i'm looking for a company that does decent thorough inspection.

i did use stateroads last time and i was happy with them however, they are a bit pricey especially considering a basic mechanical inspection doesn't include a compression test and it was $250.

so, any other places that will check over the car and do a compression test for around $250?

on sight or drive in (not too far from mill park (north east)))

You'll have to take the car to a workshop - simple as that if you want a comp test, or buy one and do it yourself. Then you might appreciate why it would cost more than $250 :)

Stateroads, for the price you pay is quite good. You have to remember it is a mobile service.

You try doing a comp test on a RB25 and you'll soon realise why they will not do that. Time vs price is variable across the motor in question and is something that then makes onsite quotes very hard and much more detailed motor knowledge required (ie, RB26's take half the amount of time as a RB25).

Also then factor in the fact they need to remove parts and are therefore liable should they not reassemble correctly :P

I honestly think your expectation of Stateroads isn't quite correct :mage:
