hey ppls just got given a brand new turbo XS BOV

just wanted to know do you put it in place of your standard bypass valve

or on the turbo to intercooler pipe (already has outlet to fit BOV on pipe)

oh yeh on a R32 GTS-4

2 places you can put it.

- In the Xmas returns list

OR remove your factory bov. (Should just be able to unbolt) Then bolt the new one in the same place. If it is a recirculating bov then reconnect the hose that goes from the bov then reenters near the turbo. If it is atmospheric then just block that hose off.

just thought it'd be more beneficial to have it as close to the turbo as possible.

why?

closer to the intake plenum is where you want it, airflow going in the one direction.

that said, i have my BOV's before the cooler without much of a drama (had it post cooler before hand, cant notice a difference).

but im with everyone else - go the stock BOV!

Hence i said "not quite correct". If you get a good one they can be fine, however 9/10 times they aren't, just like you said with the factory coil packs and other parts, most are f**ked after 15 years. Personally i'm impressed that Hamish's holds boost to redline at 20psi. Nearly all the ones i've come across start opening up and tappering off boost at high rpm.
