I have given up on trying to re-locate the factory tranny cooler and instead am going to get the 6 cyl PWR one.

My only reservation is its a LOT thinner than the factory cooler, granted you do get a larger surface area!

I have had some good feedback about where to mount the new tranny cooler etc but was just more wondering about the thickness of the PWR cooler. Should it suffice? the car does not have a tow bar ( hence no towing ) and very rarely is fully laden.

Is it any bigger than the stock S2 one? I had one on my S1 ( the biggest one) and it was fine but I thought the S2 one was about the same. Just buy some more hose and you can put it anywhere you like!

I have the PWR 6cyl trans cooler on my M35.

The gear changes are a bit snappier compared to without it, particularly in the Summer.

I have mine mounted just behind my grill.... constant airflow and seems to work well.

I am ok with the Price of the PWR one , thats no so much of an issue. I am more worried about the thickness compared to the factory one.

And the factory one has F#$ked mountings so I am just giving up on trying to relocate that. I have looked and looked and I did really give it a try , but yeah. giving up on that idea sorry!

get one from an ef foulcan they are pretty much identical to the pwr ones at a fraction of the price i have used them on many cars

From what I understand the S1 cooler is much smaller than the s2. The s2 one is smaller area wise than the PWR 6cyl one but much more thick. the PWR one is maybe 40-50 % bigger again area wise, but as I said only 19mm thick. Perhaps this is all that is needed?

Ok guys and gals. Please note that these coolers are supposed to be supplimental to the existing oil cooler, not a replacement cooler. So take note that you cant replace the factory cooler with one of these units.
Sure you can replace the factory cooler with the PWR. If you add it to the original one it will supplement the cooling effect but that's not what you are looking for - you just want to relocate it and it makes no difference whether you place the original cooler in a new position or put an equivalent unit there. Use the PWR - IT WILL BE OK!!
