Buster, Main reason that the only good times are with slicks over here is due to the track prep, the traction compound works against normal street tyres, so it's a waste of time running on anything but slicks:(

Paul this is goign to be the same for most drag tracks around the country. If anything id say street tyred cars would work better at kwinana then at other tracks, saying that our times may be worse because of our track is far from a truth

True true its a bit like the HPI R34's best time at Eastern Creek on a 100m prepped strip was 12.4 I think but down at Melbourne drags on a fully prepped track he was able to run 11.9 at the end of the day its hard no matter what strip we're on to get grip on radial tyres but maybe harder on some strips then others which slicks will make it more even to compare I guess

A fully prepped track has far less grip than clean blacktop

because the compounds work against street rubber so we really should run slicks, use what the track is setup for.

Maybe an unprepped plex strip might be more slippery then a clean road, but there is no way on street tyres that a plex prepped track with a bit of rubber on it is.

Theres no way Jeffs GTS R can smoke the tyres to 3/4 track on the road but on a prepped track its easy.

The only time that the track is fully prepped as such is on full drag racing nights at the Plex, on which street cars are able to enter, so the shit they

thell us is fully prepped isn't worth racing on without slicks.
