any reason?

is it cos of lag? driveability?

Firstly lots lag (even with a 2.3l2.4l stroker won;t change much) but that's because of the setup I used and the fact being a 2l only so big of a turbo you can use.

As mentioned, GTR brings a smile to your face everytime, reputation and presence of the car, the fact is basic mods such as power fc, cam gears, more boost and injectors/fuel pump will yield huge gains from that brutal rb26 :P

Oh did I mention, eveytime I'm changing gears I get sounds from my pods that sound like it comes from transformers hehe.

Were you at Superlap? It you want to know what to buy for track work, look at what other people are using, I know you have said it will be a 34, and I would buy a 34 over an evo too, but expect to get beaten at the track by evos...

You're running a TD07 and cams and you're complaining about lag? Try running an Evo 8MR with standard turbo, a remap and 22psi and see what you think then, it's a fantastic combo for the street, although obviously not as powerful up top.

I think this question was answered a long time ago, but if you want to do weekend track work and have a quicker point-to-point car, then the Evo is hard to beat.

The GT-R is a powerful car that rewards talent and is more satisfying to drive.

It depends on whether you want to be faster or have more fun, really.

Ill also add that being faster in the GT-R will take the fun out of it.

No it doesn't lol Its awesome when you get some yobbo's pull up thinking its just one of those rice mobiles and heckle your car when they are in a ES lancer with mirror tint and rims with more chrome than you poke a stick at with a welded on "JDM" Drift cannon and then the light goes green and you beat them without even cracking gate...

Brings a smile to my face every time  and in no way gets old

Oh I mean using the GT-R as a track weapon, they are an expensive exercise, whilst the evo might not be as ultimately fast, it is fair amount cheaper along the way.

But GT-R all the way, I have a 32 and love it like a son

really depends on what you want out of a car

the 34 is heavy, and in stock trim (even up to 1bar boost) isnt that quick,

evo - great for around town , nippy driving,

If the cars cost the same in Oz, id go for the 34.

However they both have their + and - depending on what you want out of it.

Evo is much cheaper to run, GT-R more tuning available ...

brakes on the evo are much much better than the stock bembos on a 34

A friend of mine owns an Evo 5 with around 400awkw featured in fast fours a little while ago (UDLOOZ on the plates) says the only downside for him is besides the recaro's you really couldn't tell the difference between the lancer or the evo. He likes the interior on my 33R a lot more. However i like the interiorof the 34R heaps more than mine lol

He also said the Evo 9 Brembo's he has on his car are almost like drum brakes at the end of the back straight at QR haha

Whats an Evo with that sort of power like to drive around town ? I cant see it being as nice as a GT-R of the same power from a purely physics point of view.

Yeah I prefer the GT-R interiors too, Don't know what it is about the evos but the interior just doesn't feel right a bit cheap maybe.

someone here mentioned a 4 month wait on importing one from japan. do u save a lot of money doing this? do you need to pay then wait all that time?

heheh

i am still waiting

so the car at compliance place today. so it being 2.5 month wait since wining the car

you need to pay

1. CAR Auction Price (30K)

2. Deposit for compliance (2 weeks or so later) $500

3. Shipping / customs Duty (1.5 months later) $7100

4. then rego / tyres / (once complance done and registered)

so only good thing is you can pace out your payments when importing.
