Ohh really hope you get your gtr soon and i wish i can pick up my evo 8 this week i cant wait if not driving my mrs car the euro..

bubby is good and mrs is good

Hey Giz, Jeff and shane said they would come via face book but doubt it.

Terry, your really getting me confused with all the routes you are putting up. You guys are not meeting us till after are you? So are the routes your putting up for us or for you guys? Soz its just that i dont know the area well enough so not sure what your talking bout:) How bout we decide upon the one route so we can be set for sun. Once its decided on i will print it off so we can each have a coy when meetinng at the crossroads.

As previously stated, I am happy for all to come no matter what they drive.

Am not worried about the rain. Just take it easier thn we normally would. I know ill be at the back of the pack if its raining up maq pass as my traction is not good enough and far be it for me to hold up anyone else:)

If you want to meet at orange grove maccas/krispy kreme (cumberland hwy), please ensure you're there on time as ill just be stopping in get some brekkie then will hang around for about 25 mins but really dont wanna hang around if noone is gonna stop there. You cantmiss me, Mine is the black R33 with pink calipers, pink interior, pink sides of wing and pink numbers plates reading PRNSES.

Um hope ive covered everything. Terry let me know asap so i can get organised:)

I think Terry was organising us people who'll be south, and my understanding was that us "south" people will meet just outside of Albion Park, on the way to Mac Pass.

If you guys work out an approx "get to Albion Park" time, or at least call one of us when you're say, going off the Hume onto Picton Rd, or something... Even earlier possibly. I know Genelle and Terry have a hike to get to AP; Matt has a 20 min drive to mine, and then 5 from mine to AP... I think basically we'd need 1.5hrs ish warning , so even before you get on the Hume, haha... Just trying to work out how/when we'll all meet up, worst case is that all us down-here-ers meet up at Albion Park Maccas or something, someone rings when you're 5-10 mins out, then we head on over to Tullimbah to wait.

*shrug*

Just tryin to help :P

Thanks:) As i said, i was getting confused cause i really dont know the nsmaes of the rds down there and was struggling to keep up eith all the changes. as i said, im more than happy for changes to be made but was starting to get a wee bit stressed:) No offense intended:) Tis all gd:)

Post 2 days or day before the cruise final route for both Gemma and Terry :D that will be a lot easier and contact numbers.

I suggest both groups can meet up at this point corssing of Illawara HWy and Calderwood Road/Macquarie St.

Theres a big strip on the side front a school and accross the road is a petrol station

Letting police know that this is a charity run?

Might be helpful?

Just reading the whole post again and seen this post from Terry

My mate works for The Bible Society and they are running the HAITI Charity at the moment I am donating $30 towards to it

you guys willing to do this cahrity on the day? just a suggestion like a dollar a car?

Coming to this one might get a few boys and girls from NissanSilvia.com to come as well boys :)

Welcome to sau steve :D

Raf: good idea?

Edited by lankanboiiR34
Just keep it simple Gem everyone knows what time we leaving unless we cruise to wollongong mc's and meet people from the south and continue from there just an idea???????

Good idea Gong Maccas will be a good spot just careful with cops

Gong Maccas has a terrible carpark... As someone's said, across the road from the servo in Albion Park is good, plenty of room, or out at Tullimbah.

that's the big bit on the side of the road in AP.

Thats the place I suggested  and its not far away from the climb too

gong maccas will be hard for parking and most prolly high chances of COPS

Hi Gemma,

I'm thinking that if you leave Cross Roads at 11.30

> M5

> left onto Picton Rd towards Wollongong

> Princes Hwy but being careful of this 80Km/hr zone up Mt Ousley where there's often a hand-held cam pointing down from the truck stop

> down into Wollongong with its Speed Camera next to Uni

> continue along Princes Hwy past Buddhist temple, Dapto, Koonawarra and onto to large roundabout at the airport and...

> turn right (at the roundabout)(Illawarra Hwy) towards Albion Pk which is just a couple of Km

> turn right at the lights at Albion Pk onto Illawarra Hwy #48 and it's just a couple of Km to the Tullimbar Housing Estate (another roundabout)

I think a group of us will be waiting there at Tullimbar for the main convoy at say 1pm. 3 of us cars are coming up from Nowra.

There's a Shell servo with V-Power on the corner of Princes Hwy & Tongarra Rd at Albion Park Rail (not far from Albion Park).

There are only 2X overtaking sections up Mac Pass, and they are both quite a way up the escarpment.

So I'm just anticipating Gemma that perhaps those who have been extra keen to go up front, do so from Tullimbar.

The convoy from Tullimbah should go quite slow to create distance between the lead car and any traffic ahead.

There may be quite a deal of traffic anyway (unless one does a night drive or a 6am one).

I probably wouldn't stop at the base of the Pass lest the tyres get cool again.

If you guys want me to video/dvd the group going around a hairpin near the top where there's a large rock-face, I'm willing to go up a couple of minutes before the main group. But I don't mind at all what the group wants. The remainder of the dvd can be shot at the pie shop.

Does anyone wish to come back down the Mac Pass after lunch - or take Jamberoo Mtn Rd (opposite the pie shop) and turn left at Swamp Rd to Albion Pk? The latter route is interesting too. I'll let you Gemma make an Exec decision on that.

Safe travelling.

You of course Gemma can read the initial 'riot act' out to the main group at Cross Roads eh? Feel free to PM me. It's still your baby! :)

Did you break my old motor?? What happened this time? :) And wheres those pics you promised me haha

It looks like it... LOL

It now has a knocking sound in it... But if you were at Texi, you'd be surprised the thing is even still running... It spent more time bashing the hard cut rev limiter then anything... LOL

As to pics of the engine bay... I haven't actually got any since your block went in. Should get a couple before I change it all again.

But yeah, has a nice tap to it, need to find out what is causing it, then fix it.

    • Update: I got the magnet out. I bought 3 different flexible magnetic reach tools, but none of them worked. The magnet on the tip was all less than 2lbs of force, so i had to buy a special cylindrical magnet that had a pull force of 9lbs.  The magnet finally came in the mail yesterday, so i got under the car to get to work. The super strong magnet isn't that long, so i only have about 1 finger pinch lengths to hold it. I was so scared when i was going in the hole, that the 9lb magnet would just fly away inside the oil pan never to be seen again, but i had my butt cheeks clenched and finger gripped on that thing so tight, i managed to get it to suck the other magnet out.  It was a victory for me last night.
    • Yep, pretty much what you said is a good summary. The aftermarket thing just attached to the rim, then has two lines out to valve stems, one to inner wheel, one to outer wheel. Some of the systems even start to air up as you head towards highway speed. IE, you're in the logging tracks, then as speeds increase it knows you're on tarmac and airs up so the driver doesn't even have to remember. I bet the ones that need driver intervention to air up end up seeing a lot more tyre wear from "forest pressures" in use on the highway!
    • Yes, but you need to do these type certifications for tuning parts. That is the absurd part here. Meaning tuning parts are very costly (generally speaking) as well as the technical test documentation for say a turbo swap with more power. It just makes modifying everything crazy expensive and complicated. That bracket has been lost in translation many years ago I assume, it was not there.
    • Hahaha, yeah.... not what you'd call a tamper-proof design.... but yes, with the truck setup, the lines are always connected, but typically they sit just inside the plane of the rear metal mudguards, so if you clear the guards you clear the lines as well. Not rogue 4WD tracks with tree branches and bushes everywhere, ready to hook-up an air hose. You can do it externally like a mod, but dedicated setups air-pressurize the undriven hubs, and on driven axles you can do the same thing, or pressurize the axles (lots of designs out there for this idea)... https://www.trtaustralia.com.au/traction-air-cti-system/  for example.... ..the trouble I've got here... wrt the bimmer ad... is the last bit...they don't want to show it spinning, do they.... give all the illusion that things are moving...but no...and what the hell tyre profile is that?...25??? ...far kernel, rims would be dead inside 10klms on most roads around here.... 😃
    • You're just describing how type certification works. Personally I would be shocked to discover that catalytic converter is not in the stock mounting position. Is there a bracket on the transfer case holding the catalytic converter and front pipe together? If so, it should be in stock position.
