Which Tyres To Get?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I need to get 2 new tyres but can't decide which to get, the a drives i can get for 175 fitted and balanced and the dunlops are 235 balanced and fitted.

They don't have to have insane grip or anything, its only for my daily but they still have to be a good tyre.

Any thoughts?

Dont get the A drive they are shit.

I had them on my r31 with 118rwkw at size 225/45/17, and i did not like them one bit.

they didn't inspire conferdence and were realy hard. could smoke them very easerly when i put my foot down.

I would go the brigstone re001 (thats what im gona use next.)

RE001 are a good basic "budget performance" tyre. Being a powerful RWD car though you have to be careful in the wet. Mine are half worn and will snap out on a whim if the road surface is slick - rough bitumen seems fine but worn bitumen is like ice.

Going to spend more next time and get something with more grip in the wet. I certainly would not like anything less than an RE001, I had 3000A's on before and after doing only 200km on them the grip levels dropped off.

for that money, I would personally go for the Kumho Range, either KU31 (SPT) or KU36 (XS)

Both tyres you've mentioned will just fry up under boost.

Tempe do 255/40/17R in KU31 fitted & balanced for $160 which is freaken peanuts!

Insane grip for the price, 3000a or A-drives would just be butter on your rear wheels as a comparison.
