Apexi safc questions.

Gday guys. I have just installed a later version afc on my car. the safc with the5 tuning knobs. My question is, when the car is running, should aby of the knobs illuminate red? On mine, the 2500 and the 4000 rpm knobs illuminate red constantly while the car is running. How can i check if the afc is not buggered? When i move the two knobs, to say negative 30%, the car stalls, so im assuming its working. Do anybodys have any ideas with this issue? Also, just for a check, what colour is the rev wire? is it green it think? It should be pin 7 i believe, but physically it is pin 6 on my ecu. It is the rb20 ecu aswell. thanks.

cant help you sorry, but ive got an safc2 going in my car soon too

installing myself, getting it tuned on dyno .. after ive put frontmount etc on

did u buy the car with safc ?

Yeah, the car came with the afc, and i have just bought the safc. I just want to know if the lighting setup that i have is normal or not? any body have any ideas?

I have the 5 knob SITC (Super Ignition Timing Controller).

I'm not sure if it's the same, but on startup, mine lights up all dials red and scrolls left to right, then right to left with a green light.

When driving, all dials are red except for the currently selected rev range which lights up green.

How can i check the rpm signal from the ecu? Is there a way of checking?

I don't reckon it's pin 6 or 7 for the rpm signal...

Have you got a wiring diagram?

yes, and both say its pin 7, but, there is no physical wire in the pin seven slot?

Is this wiring similar to what your using?

This is looking into the ecu, not the wiring harness...

Yes, it is the same. But, the ground wire is taken from the air flow ground which is next to the air flow siganl on the left and the power is the same, but if you physically look at the harness on the computer, were pin 7 is, there is no wire... ? so i have assumed the next wire up is the correct rpm wire?

You've mentioned RB20DET ECU

According to apexi install guides for AVCR below is the wiring map for RB20DET ECU. I think you may be looking at the RB25DET ECU wiring map

Ok, well, ive fixed the problem.. i had the wire connected to the wrong wire on the ecu.. stoopid m.. but it seems to work fine now!
