that may be so doof, but i bet you the autosalon one would have cost the same amount of 1000 of these things, nor would it have character, also the autosalon one could be all show and no go for all we know, atleast this one is floating.

and yeah if i had that much money i'd be doing excentric things with it aswell, i've always wanted a toilet in the skyline, might aswell throw in a spa bath aswell, and make it into one of those amphibious cars while i'm at it so i can go fishing with the car...

Not to mention the tail you could get telling a girl to go into your ferrari boat......come on, you were all thinking it.

EDIT: ^God damn!!

Such a stupid thread.

Who really cares what engine a boat has on it? I bet everyone would be smoking one another if it had an rb motor on it.

Who really give a rats arse about the Gas Motorsport boat, big deal, a built 2JZ in a boat, not different from the Xtreme Rotary 20B Turbo boat and it would probably be a raceboat just like the 20b.

I find myself wondering why there aren't any speedboats around here that use a RB or 1/2JZ (apart from one well known raceboat that uses a 1000hp VH45DE(TT?) in favour of heavy, clunky old V8s

boats dont run gears as such, so the lag is ghey

Yeah... Auto Salon is only like 50% rice these days... It's not everyday you get to see cars to back to back 1000rwkw runs...

yeah i have no idea what your crying about???? all i understood is you had something to do with the building of the 20b rotary boat or something...

LOL at your quote " Who really cares what engine a boat has on it?" LOL umm, thats what makes the boat, car, aeroplane ect ect.... Its like saying 'who cares about the engine in the Bugatti Veyron'...

Which isn't much different to the inboard 350 chevs and clevelands that have been used in boats for decades. Why the sudden awe when the jap engines make their way onto a boat?!?

That is one dodgy ass setup in the OP though. They've outboarded a car engine :D

Because water requires lots of low down torque and the V8 configuration is more boat friendly. It's less complicated + easier to work on and setup on a boat. Very reliable when it comes to salt water too.

EDIT: Sorry to disappoint you Basti, I've cut down on the theses and I'm agreeing more and more these days :)

Like birds said, its really nothing to do with HP its the torque thats needed in a boat to get the boat on "plane".

My familys ski boat has a common as muck 350 chev. at WOT it cant rev past 4.1k Rpm because the cams are focused on low down torque to pull a couple of skiiers out of the water.

i would imagion that small turbo motor may go faster once it actually got moving but i doubt it would ever get a 1.5t ski boat + 4 ski biscuits up on plane. well deffinitly not in a prop driven boat any way.

external gate and sreamer FTW

i went on a few of these boats in Thailand and like other have said some of them haul ass. We even raced another boat on the water which was funny.

Some of them have turbos slapped on and them seem to be running fine

    • Back in January, I noticed my car felt noticeably weak. I had the injectors cleaned, which seemed to solve the problem -- until now. Recently, the car suddenly lost power again while driving. Suspecting the injectors, I brought it to the mechanic. He recommended replacing them entirely, saying the current ones were getting unreliable and fiddly to work with. I could not find a direct replacement for my current injectors. The closest match I found were 440cc injectors. This led me to look into the possibility of upgrading -- and of course, that would mean remapping the ECU. From my research I found: The OEM Part numbers are 16600-72L20 and 16600-72L21 Both the RB20DE and RB20DET use the same 270cc injectors. There are much better options out there over the old OEM injectors. Nistune could be a viable tuning option. While the RB20DE isn’t explicitly listed on their site, the ECU is essentially the same as the GTS-T version - just with a different map. The ECU code on mine is listed as supported. One concern is finding a tuner who works with Nistune. Aftermarket ECU like Haltech and Link, but this would be the most expensive choice (and possibly overkill for a mostly stock RB20DE) I admit that I am very new to the tuning scene and would appreciate any insight or recommendations regarding this.   These are some SAU links where I got some of my information from for reference: https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/380324-rb20de-injectors/ https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/477396-factory-270cc-injectors/
    • The inspectors are not forensic by any means but if you forge your documents and/or badgings on vehicle parts and are found out, the consequences are just far bigger than if you just run illegal parts. And their job quite literally is to cross reference what parts you got installed and what your papers say you got. Something as silly as your suspension being 1mm too low will fail you. Nonetheless I asked if someone knew the damn pipe and I certainly did not ask for smartassery or underhanded comments, no idea why you need to be told this. Great way to waste both our time.
    • As useful as you explaining what forgery is... But then again, I wasn't aware your inspectors were also forensic experts and inspect nameplates on each component to confirm everything is original. They must inspect roughly 3 cars a year at that rate. You're right though, my comment doesn't help you in anyway, so I'll go talk to my wall now. Cheers.
    • Say that to the guy that is going to fail your inspection or tow your car for illegal exhaust modifications. If you have anything else useful to say, please go tell your wall.
