seems to me the ebc isnt doing its job properly, I experinced a similar probelm with my blitz EBC and probelm was the hoses running to the solonoid where to long so now i have ones that are about 15 to 20 cm and its fine, somewhere in the manual it says about making sure the hoses arent to long

Dont you mean too low?

Gain usually aims to ramp boost on harder the higher the setting.

Do you have a printout? Ideally the boost curve should ramp up to 1.1 (if thats your desired level) and flat line across the graph.

If its not close to that the ebc hasnt been set up properly.

Would the EBC still do its job if there isn't enough preload on the wastegate actuator? As not all EBCs are at 0% duty cycle until close to full boost are they? They are ~10% for the ones I Googled, which would suggest this would not cover up for a wastegate with not enough preload. It is possible to bridge the hoses that go to the EBC to rule out the EBC and check the wastegate is it not?

Happy for someone with more experience to correct me.

to check the gate, take the vac line off the actuator and block it up, see when you reach your target boost, but make sure you back off when you do as it'll freeboost

if it comes on earlier than your ebc needs to be set up better. if not then try more preload if you can

Its not normal. Remove actuator and check the load on it. It needs to be pre-loaded 3mms above the wastegate arm. Once done it should be back to normal.

Also check air leaks and etc which also affects the turbo's responds.

The truth is that the EBC hoses are like 50cm for sure.. but is that the reason? I will try to rule that out.

Isnt there a Gain setting which opens the wastegate progressively early ? Sure that isnt set too high ?

It seems that the HKS EVC 5 does not have a gain setting, i've read the manual like 10 times and nothing, only set boost and scramble..

The preload i think it's correct, Stao i didn't touched the actuator, it is like you sended it.

The think is tha eventualy in the end it reaches the target boost(1 bar) but it does that at 6200rpm from what i've seen(i don't have a printout).

If there were any leaks i would have other problems too right? like missfiring or something?

Tomorow i will try to block the actuator and see if i will have 1 bar earlier.

So today i've shortened the length of the EBC hoses and it looks it is a lot better than before! It holds 0.85 in low revs instead of 0.7.

Also i found the MAF cables stripped and they were touching each other, fixed that and it went very lean.. idle it was like 16.9 AFR's and 12.5 at WOT.
