The battery in my GTR 34 is dying.... needing a replacement... but i notice that the existing one is still the one from japan and is quite small as more jap batter is...

Anyway, just like to see what battery size and brand battery people replaced their with?

as I have actually brought one already... is a seal battery.... but is a bit too TALL??? that factory battery bracket does fit over it!?!?..... length and width is the same as the original one though

What CCA does it need anyway??? 330CCA enough?

Any help?

don't want to get those expensive dry cell battery though

to comply with AUSSIE rules,, any battery in the boot must be completely sealed or vents installed to the outside (defectable )

CCA, 330 isnt enough, try something in the 650-850 range or more if you want it to last and be dependable on a hot/cold and dont want to replace it ever two years

buy a odessy or ultima they dont cost much more then the other crappy batteries and you wont regret it.. saves you grief in the long run

dont skimp for a few bucks

there are a few other ones but they can be hard to find in oz. I wouldnt even consider anything else besides a AGM or spiral cell battery from one fo the above poeople. or worse case maybe a Delka INTIMIDATOR ?

dead thread revive so 650-850 range is perfect ? anyone confirm thanks

CCA is based on cold weather ratings from usa

But gives you a good idea of how well it works

Depends on if you have hi current items

Stereos etc or let the car sit for weeks on end without long drives

Yellow top good mix with light grey case

Just a starting battery red top dark grey case

600-2400+ is fine but use a 100% sealed battery

Called AGM .., optima or odessy , stinger brand ( odessy rebrand)

And upgrade your terminals same time

There are a zillion brands of battery but the one's above stand behind the product if purchased from

Authorized dealer ( beware some shops used by sau members sell voided warranty imports from usa )

Ive had optima that lasted 11 years in a few hi current cars so it paid for itself 5 times over ( but in usa right next door to factory is clearance center , 65 bucks for a brand new blem with minor case marks lol ) but expect 300-400

Odessy is more but in most cases way more powerful

I recently put an Odyssey in my car.

Regardless - as many have suggested, if you will leave your car for days at a time - also invest in a trickle charger.
