just out of interest has anyone bought anything off ebay internationally?

And if so, did it arrive brand new as you wanted with no damage???

The reason why im asking this is that im looking to buy this headunit from the USA for $450 US in AUD thats only $620

I saw this same headunit in JB-Hi Fi for around $1400

seems too good to be true, but their are about 10 other listings of the same headunit at that price or around that price...

its not too good to be true ... cause i did it :D ... i got an alpine 9815 before it even came here for like 600 or so ... few points too look at ... look at his rating ... 5000+ usually means hes good ... check if he will ship to australia ... most don't ... but there are a few that will ... always email to check how much it costs to ship over .. u will find u will spend at least 100AU or so for the shipping as its a waste of time if u do 4-6 weeks shipping ... which may be 50 bucks or so ... but u dont' want to wait that long ... 100 bucks will get u tracking so u know exactly where the package is ... if any questions email the guy to clarify ... good luck ... i'd definitely buy another one cause its just so much cheaper ... only thing is warranty issues ... if it ****s up ... you're ****ed :( ... let us know how it goes ...

btw that unit is factory refurbished ... means i think that it went back cause something ****ed up ... ie warranty ... so people like that get it cheap and resell ... but its up to u ...

I got my AIWA CDC-MP32 from the US, AFAIK i'm the only one in AUS with it lol... I bidded thru ebay n got him to ship it, shipping was a bitch, but I had an MP3 player back when no one had even heard of portable MP3, all they knew was it could be downloaded off napster and u could play it on Winamp.

With an Aussie dollar buying around 73cents US now is the BEST time to buy a HU from the US.

Leave it to Aiwa to never rest on their laurels! After releasing one of the first ever in-dash MP3 players, Aiwa has outdone itself with the new CDC-MP32. The MP32 plays just about anything that comes on a disc – MP3 encoded CD-R and CD-RW along with regular music discs. A new “magic-flap” security feature prevents the unit from tempting thieves. When the unit powers down, the display flips over revealing a simple black plate. Even the controls recess, completing the stealthy appearance. MP3 playback features include source level adjuster, variable bit rate (32k-320kbps), long file names (up to 30 letters), directory structure (up to 8 levels to help organize your music), and stereo, monaural, joint stereo, dual formats. With 50x4 watts of peak power on board, there’s no need to add an auxiliary amplifier to enjoy your tunes, even at elevated volume levels. Built-in H-Bass circuitry provides three levels of bass boost to satisfy even the most devoted bass heads. Aiwa’s Sound Stage Adjustment provides automatic fader and balance adjustment for improved stereo imaging in the driver’s seat. Comes complete with a handy steering wheel remote.

i paid about $50 (AUS) insured parcel via ship (not plane) took about 2 weeks to arrive but I could track it every step and if anything happened I'd just claim it on insurance.

well that can't be right because the US and Australia (its an agreed standard in both countries no manufacturer can change that) use the same frequencies for AM and FM. I use a US headunit in my car with no problems...

maybe its their headunits which are stuffed?
