Hey guys.

Just wondering if anybody knows what sort of temperature I should be prepared for when reconnecting turbo water lines back together with a non metal section of tube (Just a short piece to use as a joiner). I have fuel hose at home rated to 150 degrees that I can also add a heat shield around to assist. It wont be resting up against the turbo. But will obviously be in the vicinity of the turbo and dump pipe.

Any ideas if my fuel hose rated at 150 degrees should be up to the task of running coolant for a very short section around the turbo?

Cheers. Luke

ANY synthetic hose apart from teflon will melt. if it doesnt melt it will get very brittle.

best thing to do is to get some heat sleave ($100/m) and put some "fire foil" over it. basicly just insulate the shit out of it.

it would be better to change them all to teflon braided hose. abit expencive but you wont have to worry about them braking 300km from home..

I have Aeroquip hoses for coolant in & out of my turbo. They are rubber(ish) but have a huge temperature rating. Have had these right next to the turbo unshielded for years & they are still the same as the day I bought them...

hey dude, not sure about the temp but i know the custimized turbo rubber hose joiner i made has lasted me for about 6months and no problems! i've given it a hard time and its still not broken! even on my mates VL's
