Pics from SAU Christmas Beachside Cruise/BBQ - 21/12/03

Recommended Posts

Well the cruise was fun, good value, nice to put faces to names, next time we will have to wear name tags to make it easier because it is awkward for most, including me to do a mass introduction. I am not good at remembering names so I didn't meet every one  Thanks for the positive comments about my 4 door they are much appreciated. And i hope to see everyones pics posted up soon! :D Looking forward to the next cruise :aroused:

Did the BBQ go ahead? I turned up at the car park at about 2:30, no way in hell i was going to attemp that speed hump in the middle of the car park. Whats with that car park any - what a joke!! Was there another way in?

Didn't see any other liners, apart from a R31 blue and grayish.

Anyway, sorry to miss the cruz

Should be able to blow up the group pic n get some identification happening.

At this moment in time I'd like to remind ppl to fill out the name field in your user profile in the user cp. It will show your real name and your nick next to your posts (like on mine) and will make identification a lot easier...

Also ppl who have labels in their vans *coff* Al *coff* should pass them around next time instead of remembering about em AFTER the event :P

Excellent work Smithers, Funky can you tee me up with a 150 inch monitor so i can view everything without side scrolling? :bscreen: Fantastic photos of a great day, thanks guys :P

:P I got 2 monitors with that dual view shit happening, so the other half gets shown on the other monitor :) In other news.. i noticed the pic in your avatar has different rims towhat your car was sporting on the day... or are they 2 diff cars altogether?

I have so many spare monitors it's not funny! I must need a kick ass video card! The avatar is from the nissan japan website, an original R33R, this link has since dissapeared and there is no access from the Impul site either :) The rims in the J-spec container will see me with the same rims :P

    • How do people sell and buy modified cars in Victoria? Because internet says you have to get a RWC every time the car is sold. In NSW the blue slip / full check is only required for cars that had their registration lapsed or are bought from interstate. The yearly pink slip / rego check just looks at tyres, lights, leaks and things like that. They tend to not care about modifications. So can buy a car that is modified as long as it was registered before modifications. And then keep driving it. With the lingering threat of getting defected and fu<ked at any time.
    • I think just better tyres, I'm just on Hankook RS-4 tyres at the moment, which aren't really meant for the track. Also, been mucking around with my suspension for sometime now and I'm really happy bow neutral it is. Car doesn't want to just oversteer or understeer like it did years ago.  Time to put on proper tyres one day and see what the shit box can do at SMSP, One Raceway and Luddenham again.

    • It's not "interpreted as" it literally is no more than 1 mod to the intake system. The turbo is considered something that affects emissions. So this has 0.0% chance of passing it's current state. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this would absolutely need thousands to get on the road. Perhaps the seller still has the stock bits, but god knows what state the OEM wiring is to run the ECU, whether an OEM cluster is still available, etc. Generally speaking, RWC testers in Victoria are more conservative than the rules actually are to boot, so even if the car will pass, they won't even want to look at it, nor consult the actual roadworthiness requirements. They will simply throw it in the too hard basket with a flavor of arrogance and move onto the next job, even if the mods you have meet the requirements of VSI14.
