Car Related Things To Do In Osaka? Apart Fr Auto Messe

Recommended Posts

Sorry about starting another thread... but is kind of different topic!

I will be in OSAKA for a week, and i haven't been there before.... going to the Osaka AutoMesse!!!

Just like to see what else car related things/tour/shop etc i can go visit?

BUT anything else non-car related and is a MUST SEE or Experience will be go too!

Thanz for your help in advance!

The Auto Messe is pritty good ( take lots of cash for souveniers ) ha ha ha

If you get the time head over to Kobe and check out some of the car auctions there, Never seen anything like it , it was amazing the amount of cars and people at it.

If you can / if there is an event on while your there head to SUZUKA circuit, They have a massive track with a theme park in the middle of it and a car park full of eye candy if a drift event is on. Think its about an hour or 2 from osaka?

I'm going to Osaka for the show, 2 weeks in J all up, I'll be there on the Wednesday before the show. Ill be going to Kyoto and Hiroshima as side trips and 3 or 4 days in Tokyo, probably over the weekdend after the show. I was going to go snow boarding but I've sort of acquired an MX5 that needs some love

    • Yeah it was a good result, and confirming the car is full of fluids and all interior etc in, other than fuel. I think a few pages back (maybe many pages!) he mentioned some serious lightening in the doors with the chassis punch, might have been done elsewhere I hadn't seen yet too
    • He still had the suspension dialled in for him! I would have sworn the lowest weight he ever got to was 1300kg though Maybe Neil had been drilling a LOT of holes somewhere you haven't found yet... 😛 Or has he also drained all the gearbox and diff oil out too, between it, and a tank full of fuel there's about 65kg to 70kg to add back in I'd guess. 😛
    • Yeah this isn't a super complex shape, but I was still happy to buy instead of fab version 1; very little in a modern can is a flat surface, and that is true here again - the undertray has about 50mm in height differences that I would have had to work out myself. I will probably make something more substantial before it does any rally, I don't think 1mm steel is too much use as a bash plate. There is also cooling to think about, Z1 have done a bit of development and have some air holes and louvers in the shape, will see how that works out too
    • If it's been tuned idle rpm can be changed.
    • Very slightly as there are bars connecting both sides of the ramp. The only difficulty that I had was doing the gearbox, everything else so far has been ok
