Dunno WTF all the fuss is about either, seems like people want to work on their turbos on a regular basis or are not confident with things going right.

Last thing I'd want to do is fu(k around with turbos once installed. JUST LEAVE THEM, THEY'RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE!!!

I'd say the reason you want a big single is for the sake of a high mount turbo in your engine bay.

Just do it, take it to URAS, he's a genious with rb26's, just ask him....

Not being a mechanic, not having access to the right tools and having a 26 in a S series that I work on myself. I know exactly were he is coming from.

Single just makes life so much easier.

Also I still believe the responce from a single is better then twins. Brockas twin gt2835 vs gt35 was a great example of this.

But thats a debate that will never end :P

GT3076 with 82 rear on a 6 boober would be my pick.

While ill agree on the ease of mantinance part. I Definatley do not agree on the Twin 2835 Vs GT35R bit...the HKS 2835 twin kit was a bigger sack of shite than the 2540s

2530s VS 35R would be a better comparison.

like most others have said once the turbos are in (properly) there's not much needed to be done on that side of the motor..its not like the turbos have to come out to change the spark plugs or anything stupid like that.

Of course it won't end, because the two turbos are not comparable :P

Nor does it apply to this thread!

lol i agree with you especially with leaving things well alone but to think there is only one way is small minded.... i get to see alot of 26's (feel free to drop in 2moro there are 4 in there atm 2 x with -7's 1 x -5's and 1 x 34 stockers so you can see im not bullshitting.) Its true the twins work very well (i prefer them personally in most cases) but if he wants more reponse then who are we to say he cant have it when it is physically possible? ive seen enough combos to be able to give an unbiased view.

Ive said mutliple times in this thread we should see his graph before going gung ho and now weve seen the graph we know its not right, my recomendation as it was on page one is sort it the problem out then if your still unhappy look at changing.... chances are once it fixed there be no reason to change.

agreed thats way too late, they sound more like r32 N1. get someone to look over it, get it right then make your decision.

these unfortunatley are not a good comparo as the 2835's are huge compared to the SS's, more comparable to a t78, t88 than the gt35r.

I Definatley do not agree on the Twin 2835 Vs GT35R bit

Best comparo i've seen. Invite other comparisions of same engine twin to single or visa versa.

Same engine simlar boost and power. Just one spooled harder.

Too often its different engine setups that mean more of a difference and are used in comparison.

IE One person getting boost by 3500 with gt-ss and another 4300 :P

Trent, give it up mate, your posts are as valuable as what I just passed through the toilet half an hour ago. Go back to the top and have a good read.

When you answer my question posted early in this thread then we can continue this conversation with merit.

Just in case you have been working hard in this 40 degree heat today, I'll help you out.

You said there are single setups that would be more responsive than twin GTSS's.

I disagreed, and asked you to specify which single(s) you were referring to.

You ignored my question (which incidently could not give a fark anyway), and then mentioned that the singles in mind can 'MATCH' the GTSS's.

So from 'being more responsive' you have moved to 'MATCH OR BETTER'.

So, which one is it? Have you made up your mind??

I'm not the one who is small minded, infact I'd like to see results disproving my opinion and broaden my knowledge.

Oh, no offence but I wouldn't waste my time coming to your workshop to see 4 GTR's when I can go to my mechanic and see 14 of them.

I see where your coming from, same car, same engine etc...

However the two turbo setups you have mentioned are not comparable.

Anyone know the HP ratings of each setup (twin 2835's vs GT35R)?

gt35 ~700 and twin gt2835's ~ 800-850.

So yer I see where your coming from too.

Both setups simular rwhp but. Also seems the gt35 can be stretched furhter then 700hp.

Definetly the right turbo for the right engine setup comes into play as well.

All keen to see more comparo's though :D

This comment made my night

Jack, here you go, some old turbo sheets attached. 35R is hard to rate HP wise with so many options available for it, for example ive got one with a 66mm front fan (for supra).

I agree with your points 100%, but since talking to the racepace guys and seeing their results I dont really pay much attention to ratings anymore :D

My friends place i was at before talking to you the other night had 7 of them...and that was his house!!

One out the front, two in the carport and four in the shed.

Works out about right in the pecking order too...as id say confidently he knows more than Trent but is not as knowledgeable as Ben.

CRD one day had 17 of them at the workshop...GTR god?

Simple fact is twin GTss on an RB26 with Mild Cams dialed right is as good as it gets for boost response in a 450rwhp package.

Yeah of all the GTRs I've been in set up to make in the low 300wkw range, the one running GT-SS was definitely the most responsive - I was very impressed. As for higher power levels, GT3582Rs are quite noticeably better than GT2530s etc imho

Nice pissing contest boys....Not hard to tell who has beef with others.

I don't own an RB26, I don't ever plan to. But from what I have seen around here as mentioned something is wrong with your setup, the thing comes on as late as my setup (RB20). For the capacity and the size / trim of the GT-SS's I would be concerned, get it looked at :D

I will leave you to your ego's....I mean your tuners ego's that you live through vicariously. :)

size of your turbo?...if its around the same size as a GT-SS of course it will be.

your set-up 2.0 litres capacity x 1 turbo but due to the inferior head design/flow of the RB20 this evens it up a bit.

his set-up 2.6 litres capacity 2 x turbo's his is the equivalent of a 1.3 litre engine vs your 2 litres...even if you turbo is the same as a 2530 you would still have more airflow through the turbine at any given rpm.
