OSH13T
If the turbo is not boosting till like 4500revs and not hitting max boost till like 5000revs and theres a wheezing sound coming through the air filter, would this be something wrong with the wastegate? If so will a external wastegate fix this problem? any help appreciated Cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/30357-wastegate-problem/ Share on other sites

qikr33
exhaust wheel sounds ***ed .Or waste gate staying open ,check the rod going from the actuator to the exhaust side of turbo u should be able to feel if it is closed .just replace the actuator or the vacuume hose to it. From what I have seen, wen the car is boosting, the wastegate rod moves left to right, like a shudder. Is that what you mean? qikr33
yes but check that when its boosting that the wastegate does close off enough it may be too far open and not be regulating boost just leaking it out ...let me know how you go Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/30357-wastegate-problem/#findComment-623127 Share on other sites
