How did you align it?

Best thing to do is to take the extra time to rip all the trim out and drop the entire frame down, and check the mechanisms.

Can do it by yourself, probably easier since 2 doors are smaller sunroof assembly, but it is pretty heavy and awquard to get back up into the roof by yourself, so get a mate to help.

i think i posted osmething about my sunroof and it was you that was willing to come give a hand i think? lol nah i aligned it using the motor and now it sits flush but it still doesn't like tilt up or down :D lol mmmmmi wonder could it be the switch

Cheers

Yeah that was me.

Can't be the motor. It only has one motor which controls both directions (back/forward, and up/down tilt), so if it's moving one way and not the other, it'll just be off the runners or blocked somewhere.

PM me if you want a hand.

Basic test.

Pry the switch assembly out of the roof trim.

Dead centre of the motor is a black circle, rip that off, you'll see a flat head screw kind of thing...turn that...

I'm pretty sure the R33s have them, I know late 80s - early 90s do have them, but later models started removing this for some reason - basically its there so you can shut the sunroof in the event it gets stuck open and its going to rain or something..

Turn it counter-clockwise to go backwards, or clockwise to tilt up (or the other way round, can't remember). If it can go up manually, then your switch is stuffed, but as I said, both functions operate one the one cable, so they should either both work, or neither work.

OK, wellll, to get the assembly out, you need to take the trim off all pillars, and the roof lining, can be in and out in maybe an hour, tops, with two people, so send me a pm. I'm available most afternoons after 5, and on weekend (yeah, even this weekend). Make sure you got all the tools and Iced Coffee :D
