Drift use - 180/S14.

What I have personally found (and with others) 32 need some attention to incrase lock. Some options are simple and cheap, others not so much. Either way, its time and money that must be spent if you want to be on par with S platform in terms of angle.

The benefit of a 32 is RB power & torque

unless you are on your p's and the restrictions are preventing you from getting a r33, i would go the 33. for drift, etc they are very easy to drive as the torque is much better than the 2.0L engines. the extra toque means you don't have to be changing gears as much if the revs start to drop.

out of the other options, i personally would go the s13 over the s14 because i prefer the look of them. for drifting i would also rate the sr20 over the rb20 as the sr puts out more torque, especially if you happen to find one with the later model BB turbo on it. also in a straight line the s13 and s14 are quicker than the 32.

No restrictions up hear in darwin Plus im 23.

Dont wont a 33 as i dont like the shape. but dont forget it's just not drift use. would also be circute and daily driver.

fair enough, then in that case, 180sx or s14, depending on what you like the look of more. if you go the s13 then just get a BB t28 turbo off a late model s14 or s15 and you'll be laughing. they go good on 15psi even with the stock ecu (or even with the stock bush bearing t25 turbo at 15psi).

get a s13 . spend the extra $ on a s14 F/L motor and box and stage one mods . can be done easy for under ten and itll go mint . mate has done it . does 13.0's on street tires on unprepped track . also has justies and mostly aftermarket arms for that price

mmmm,

Is intresting i think im gona have to drive all of them and find out (well ive driven a stock auto 180sx) was ok but i prefered th r31 that i had at the time as the 6 just had way more punch even tho the 180sx was a tad behind the 31 (1/2 car),

the idea of a cheep s13 and using the spear cash is good. but how may would i find that arnt farked to oblivion?

s14 is newer and has an updated chasis which is much better than the s13/180sx ones. Series 1 s14's do not look very good to me but thats personal opinion there are ones i have seen that have looked awesome just rare to find.

S14 would def be my choice out of the 3 but i guess if you do mod the car a lot it won't matter that much with the stock chasis differences

s14 the car is almost drift ready 5 stud decent brakes engine is ready for 200kw with boost fmic and exhaust all they need is coilovers and a 2way

compared to the 32.

The one thing i dont like about the s14 is the rear end.

I think ive narrowed down to 32 v 14. how hard is it to put a RB in the s14, that could be the substerute 6cyl end in a decent cahssies. but if i did that why not keep it in the skyline?

rb20 or 25?

personally the 25 is the better option or you could go 1jz.

read over these build threads:

http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.p...374506&st=0

then again you could get an r32 with a rb25. if i could legally drive a r32 with 25 conversion that's what i would have tried to get however, i cant so went with the s14.

S14 = Newer and less popular than the S13

You'll pay out the ass for a '97 Type X, or get a similar condition '98 model S14 for your budget.

and at the end of the day, the type x 180sx still only has a redtop in it (although the rocker cover is black) as it has no VCT like the blacktop in the s14.

below $10k, you ll be looking at a rough s14 series 2, in my experience in searching the past few months or a clean s14 series 1. i'm getting a '95 s14 manual, stock for the most part with 185,000kms for $8500. yeh, seems worn but the engine compression was far stronger then a series 2 i tested for $9.5k with 135,000kms.

i wouldn't worry so much about kms, instead focus on engine compression and vehicle inspections.
