I have organized to have the day off work, so i am able to attend.

If anyone needs to buy a helmet - like i do, you can get them here.

Niwce, cheers for that Abe. Too bad if you get the wrong size and its too small or something lol

get an open faced or a moto-x style helmet, i can imagine youd get rather warm in a closed face helmet.

I was looking down the lines of something like this :D

just a thought.

Someone who has been to a private day at Mallala before, would you mind posting up some basics on the Scrutineering side of things?

ie:

what type of helmet is required?

does the car need to have a fire extinguisher fitted?

are batteries in the cabin allowed?

are screamer pipes allowed?

are externally mounted cameras allowed?

does the glass on the car have to be taped up?

etc.

Cheers.

ie:

what type of helmet is required? They didn't check but IIRC it must be either ADR or CAMS approved.

does the car need to have a fire extinguisher fitted? No.

are batteries in the cabin allowed? Don't know but they didn't scrutinise the cars at all.

are screamer pipes allowed? See above.

are externally mounted cameras allowed? Yes.

does the glass on the car have to be taped up? No.

etc.

Cheers.

What other questions do you have?

1. "Non Competition drivers need a Helmet with AS1698 APPROVAL by CAMS, clothing (non synthetic) with full length sleeves and leg coverage. " these helmets have the four tick logo that says aus approved i think

2. No

3. nothing in cabin not secured

4."Cars will not be scrutineered, but on your entry form you will sign-off to say that your car is safe and suitable for practice." So yes they are allowed

5. Dont know bout external cameras

6. No

Hope that helps

  • 2 weeks later...

Just under a month to get those deposits in people and just over 2 months to go for the day. Start prepping your cars and make sure you clear the day off with work first. Don't want to leave that till the last minute
