Hey Guys i have a proposal for you.

I spoke to Tristan Catford (GSR/EVO club president) and we can hire the timing gear that is used for the time attack. There are 12 units and the cost will be $500 for the whole set up. it works out to $42 per unit. These units will give you accurate timing down to the 100th of a second.

If two people who are in different groups want to share them then that is fine and it will make the cost $21 each, and i will swap them between the cars between sessions.

It really is only viable if ally units are spoken for.

I will do up a Propper timing sheet and will post that up if it goes ahead.

Just out of interest the cost of buying the timing setup is ~$6000.

I am definitely interested to have this and i dont mind paying $42 for it so that i can hogg it for the whole day :P

They can blow up your motor for free :D

well they are only replacing my clutch and not touching any of the belts.....plus i am leaving work early and going to see it getting tuned.....love watching the car on the dyno being tuned.....also looking forward to driving it with a bit more power :D

go easy with the slagging of businesses guys....won't be the 1st nor the last shop that's had blow ups on dynos.

Best to keep that sort of thing to PM....last thing you need is a Process Server knocking on your front door.

well got the car back last night......the new clutch feels so damn different....the old clutch is what i would call it as FARKED......nothing left on it so no wonder it started slipping lol.....but i am suprised as to how long that lasted under decent thrashings.....oil cooler looks like its an awesome fit.....they only had to shorted one of the lines the rest were fine.....but no happy as there is still an exhaust leak which i will be taking the car back to AM to sort it out.....there is a boost leak as well.....so a few more things to be replaced and see if we can get a better result....making around 230rwkw but feels nice and responsive

Thankfully nothing major ... just a bit too risky for the track. Got most of the damage sorted now anyway.

      Foreign debris, physical shock, boost leak, could be anything honestly. The danger in taking all the timing out of a tune/hitting the R&R corner is that even if the engine doesn't detonate your turbo is taking a lot of abuse from high EGT. Also, even if nothing goes wrong it is a journal bearing that is spinning at 100k RPM on boost. Eventually it goes through enough cold start/pressure cycles to wear it out.

      I kinda accidentally saw this, and was interested, but It actually seems to replaces the whole center computer, using the existing screen and buttons. AND it may only be for a G37 and not compatible with a Japanese 370. So its not for me, but someone else may be interested to look into it. Its about $680USD. If I am understanding it right, it basically replaces/installs and android pc that integrates with the existing screen.       I’m with Shannon’s for all 5 of our cars. Agreed values seem fair, premium price is okay. ($210 ish a month, all comprehensive).  Have claimed once with them for a not at fault claim with another car where my car had no damage. Was one call after the incident and an email after. Deemed not at fault so premium didn’t go up either.    I have called up and spoken with people who are not familiar with certain cars and didn’t agree with me on value or let their personal vehicle preferences effect the call. But called back later and got someone else who was more agreeable.

      It is an absolute lottery. They can and have died at stock boost with low usage at all. The turbos are now anywhere up to 36 years old!
