loffe
Hi! What is the best start setting up the car for slicks? Wheel alignment? Spring Konstant Front and rear Anti rollbar stiffnes Front and rear I´m going to test reel slicks Dunlop 245/40-17. This is touringcar slicks that is used from STCC, almost like WTCC cars series. Has done all easy lightning mods. Weight about 1360kg. /Christofer Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/303771-setup-slicks-r32-gtr/ Share on other sites
NZM.031
that will be sooo much fun... after riding in a v8 supercar, there is nothing like the grip that a pure race slick can provide... its like being on a rollercoaster.. it just turns underneath you no matter what. tacker
depends on the circuit but you will need to test by the tyre temp inside of tyre should be around 5 degree hotter than the middle and outside of tyre. Tyres need to be around 53 to 60 degrees for best performance and warm them up well before you start to give them any grief or they will grain up and you will damage them Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/303771-setup-slicks-r32-gtr/#findComment-5034492 Share on other sites
bigmikespec
I am interested to know in the change in spring rates require for the greater grip with slicks too, if anyone knows? And stabilser bars? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/303771-setup-slicks-r32-gtr/#findComment-5034526 Share on other sites
loffe
My springrates today is 87N/mm front and rear. I have also calculated some on my stabilisers, but i am i little unsure if i did it the right way, i got on my original stabilisers (20mm front, 26mm rear) 20N/mm in front swaybar, 118N/mm in rear??? sounds a little strange. have i done wrong? Duncan
about 20% firmer than semi slick setup, and the same for the swaybar on a middle setting. then 10% harder or softer on the sway bar adjustment should get you in the ballpark. modern semi slicks have very similar grip to full slicks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/303771-setup-slicks-r32-gtr/#findComment-5051052 Share on other sites

Duncan1
I would be very interested to see your semi vs slick circuit times if its not too much to ask! Or anyone else for that matter...
