Water Leak

After the previous owner spent lots of money on a new radiator, hoses, water pump etc... Got a coolant leak somewhere up around the starter motor.. Any ideas where it's coming from and is it possibly more than just a hose?

Had this with mine... very hard to see, even harder to get to... that is if it's the hose Im' thinking about.

There are two hoses right at the back of the motor around the head, one is smaller than the other, they get a lot of heat and when they crack, it leaks down to above the starter.

We had to pull my intake manifold off to get to them, it was still pretty tricky. You will have a hard time seeing them at all, best working on feel from either under the manifold or ontop right at the back of the motor... do either while someone is putting water in the ratdiator to build the pressure.

are the welsh plugs on that side of the motor? also they may not have had the rear hose to the turbo replaced. i'd check that first

My experience was similar to BlackR32. Plenum off, and of course replace ALL the coolant hoses while you're there so you dont have to take the plenum off again, which is a bitch of a job.

Here's the part numbers of the stuff i replaced, and IIRC I missed the two elbows going to the assembly that holds the AAC.

21307-05U02, 14055-05U11, 21307-05U04, 14055-05U01, 14055-05U02

Water/heater: 92410-05U00, 92402-05U00, 92401-05U00

Neil got to change the one I split at the race track the other day (the water line that goes to the turbos). Took a couple of hours and a lot of burns and skined knuckles.

Heater hoses are also there.

Just Jap sell full silicon hose replacement kits for 32/33/34.
