Unlike some rivals the new Lambo will not feature a DSG transmission because it would be “too complex and too expensive” to engineer. Instead, the new Murcielago may come with the option of a sequential seven-speed manual, with a more conventional seven-speed paddle shift as standard. A traditional open gate manual will almost certainly not be available this time round.

Well, I'm betting it will have a twin-clutch manual. The tech is already well tested inside the Audi group in a heap of different things, and it's one of the biggest ways to get the cars to record lower results on the Euro combined/city cycle testing (CO2/km and L/100 etc), as the test rules treat these trannys as 'automatics' giving a much more favourable result over full-manual 'boxes by allowing the test to be run in whatever gear the box selects in 'D' (ie- the highest gear possible). The CO2 thing is a huge deal in Europe and the UK (cars pay annual roadtax according to CO2 per km output in the UK and elsewhere), so I can't see them not going down that road.

Lambo's are at their peak right now(RWD FTW), and that door shit is horrid.

Umm you do know the Murci and Gallardo are AWD?

And guys its the new Lamborghini, i think we can put some trust in the designers, it aint going to look bad, its going to be fantastic.

yeah beacuse 700hp in rwd is a sensible idea....... sure they may be the odd company putting that amount of power in a rwd car (such as zonda) but if they want it to have good performance on paper as well as not have lots of them wrapped around trees they will stick with the awd platform that they know and trust.

hopefully they bring out RWD version

my new favourite Lamborghini is the LP550-2 Valentino balboni

why would you want a RWD version if they give awd? how will you be able to utilise over 700hp? you could do with half that hp in rwd and still reach the same numbers of 0-100 times ect....

If anything it should be awd and maybe have an option to turn the front power off for show boating, but really asif you couldn't make some awesome wheel spin with all 4 wheels with 700hp anyway...

Yeah, would be 4189412972410 x hotter without the dodgy looking door

depending when they decide to release it, and for all we know all the exterior pannels could change by then....

anyway i dont think the doors look ugly, sure they maybe eccentric.... but christ sake its a lambo, since when do they look decent? They look awesome in their own lamborghini type of way that no other car company could get away with...

i can only imagine that "horrible door shit" feeds some monster air intake or intercooler... therefore it has purpose, so who gives a f#$k what it looks like..

Right on :D

can say something bout the doors but will turn more heads than anything on the road pretty much. the styling might be for functional purposes which is why it looks weird at the best of times but people will take notice of it more than say a HSV with some lumpy cams or a WRX with a big wing on the back, the cars silhoute is menacing enough.
