The Skyline is pretty much always gonna be a project for me, i.e. I'm always finding stuff to do on it (and to spend money on lol)... but the daily ('98 CE Lancer) might get replaced with something along the lines of a Toyota Caldina (2.0L turbo wagon thing... same engine as the Celica GT4)... nothing crazy quick but just a practical car with a little bit of go.

Something like this:

I have been after a daily car for a while and after driving my uncle's 6 cyl Liberty I think I'm going to go in that direction.

Leather seats

Climate control

Cruise control

AWD

6 speed man

Nice amount of low torque

Takes corners very well

Half decent sound system as standard

Smooth and quiet (and I mean quiet in comparison to ANYTHING I have driven... including my stock FailBoat :D )

I have only have one issue with Libertys... apparently they don't like running on no oil :P

mmmm theres a few that are a realistic dream money wise

xr5 focus, r36 wagon, accord euro, m35 stagea, but like i said a "dream", the stagea wont be going anywhere for a while yet,

but if money was no object it would be a M5 or an rs6 avant!!!

So,

if you either have to sell the skyline to upgrade or downgrade - what would you get?

or if you need a new daily driver? what are you going to get? and why?

The mx5 - well I dont see myself replacing that for a few years, however my daily - 1995 bluebird I cannot wait to get rid of!

Im looking to buy my old mans VXii Berlina V6 - so comfy, 80k on clock, immaculate condition!

Im sick of manual for daily driving in traffic!

so whats your next car going to be??

CHUBBS you are live like 3 kms from work!!!

V35 for me.

I own 2 Skylines; a R33 GTS and now a R33 GTR Vspec. Both of which have been modifyed to the point where they are no longer practical cars to drive everyday.

I have always wanted a daily driver V8 and what better choice than a FPV BF MKII GTP semi-auto. I'd have to go for the auto option because, living in Syndey has made me realise that, no one in sydney ever 'drives' to thier destination.....they simply 'crawl' to it as the traffic and road quality in Sydney is disgustingly bad. Driving manuals through Sydney traffic is a painful experience (especially with a twin plate clutch), the 6 speed auto offered by FPV just gives the best of both worlds.

With that said, I think a comfy Aussie V8 with a lazy 6 speed auto tranny would have to be the next vehicle of choice. Its got a great sound, its comfy as, the parts a cheap and available from everywhere and now that I'm 25+ I won't have any problems getting insurance as I did with the Skylines.

......maybe a nice Defillipo quad tip exhaust to go with it

Parts aren't cheap and it will cost you the same amount as your skyline.

Well i'm looking at buying a Mazda CX7 (or CX9)

Next import: R32 GT-R

win

(P.S i should add i'm currently switching between a company car which is an MY10 Subaru Liberty 2.5i Wagon manual, and a 2000 Hyundai Excel )
