Back in September '08 my 32 was stolen, i have just bought her replacement.

i don't think it's set in yet, but it probably won't until she's registered and I'm driving it.

Its a 1998 R34 gt-t

- 18" RAYS G-Games 99B wheels.... staggered fitment

- Slotted RDA rotors + EBC Red Stuff pads

- Trust Power Extreme 2 Exhaust

- Trust Intake Pod

- Blitz Dual SBC

- Low King Springs

- 3 point Alarm & immobiliser

The only thing is, it's not registered in Victoria so I'll have to make an appointment to get it registered.

At Vicroads they will check the vin/eng numbers etc. but they will also be checking to make sure its been complied correctly and meets ADR's.

I'm just thinking will it pass with ebc, king springs and factory xneons... exhaust, wheels and airbox will be replaced with standard items.

Nice car mate, congrats. If it is still registered (interstate) you just have to go to Vicroads, make a Miscellaneous registration appointment . Get yourself a rwc here in vic, go to Vicroads on the day and then pay for a full year reg and new number plates. My cuz just did this with an Evo he bought from NSW. They just checked the rwc and made sure vin and engine matched on their computer, gave him new vic plates and off he went. It cost him like $650

wats the go with xenon lights being a issue?

if they factory you should be fine shouldnt you?

im thinking of getting xenon ligths for my 32 GTR

They are factory items but removed upon compliance. I believe the ADRs state that xenon systems must be self levelling and feature headlight washer jets

Congratulations on the purchase mate :-)

lol mine has Xenons factory and passed :) they dont move or anything tho so *shrug* no washer jets either. Howevvver...boost controllers are still illegal and wont pass inspection...so either remove it or hide it really, really, really well....

its funny that most BMW's these days have really blue xenon bright as lighting but are fine

lamborghini's are so low that they barely touch the ground and yet still road legal....

harley davidsons make so much noise yet our car exhaust can be defected for noise pollution...

sometimes i wonder

Auto headlight level adjustment = legal

From factory then they have special permit to be less than 100mm clearance

Bikes get defected too - u just dont hear about em

Slightly off topic...

I don't think all "legal" cars such as BMW, merc etc.. have xenons that are auto level adjustment - from personal experience most of them seem off focus and actually blind you. *shrugs*

Having Xenons on wet nights = Fail. Especially with the yellow street lights reflecting off the ground - The xenon lights just don't seem to work as effective. Pitch black country roads xenons are the best. Strictly speaking from experience here.

Thankyou to all the well wishers... can't wait to pick it up.

As for the xenons, is it a simple matter of just swapping out the globes for halogen ones???? I thought it would be more tricky than that, if thats the case then i can just swap them myself

And with the blitz dsbc, if i just remove the control unit in the cabin and leave the rest(i.e. solenoids) hooked up, what will happen?? is that likely pass?

also i won't to make an appointment asap so is there any vicroads branch i should avoid and any i should favour?

thanks guys.

I had mine complianced with factory xenons, I guess it depends where you go to how strict they are.

Then when I took it to VicRoads, they didn't bother checking the lights, just the VIN and Engine No and I was out of there in 10 mins :)
