Wonder how many people get defected for xenons? Is it a common defect?

I was pulled over a number of times by Knox TMU in my R34, once specifically because of my "blue coloured head lights" and not once defected. They were factory white Xenons by the way. Highly unusual I'd say.

For the record, even though Euro Xenon's dazzle they are auto levelling, mine are. It's not the light that causes the dazzle it's the projectors. R34's are not projectors. Hehe, dazzle, funny word.

Congrats on the new car BTW

i have the factory xenons in my r34 and havnt had an issue. i like them, plus you can adjust them with the switch under the steering wheel and all i know is that its set on a spot where it doesnt blind people.

There's no need to worry mate.

As far as I'm aware, the appointment at vicroads is strictly to check the numbers on the car match, and make sure nothing shifty is going on.

The place who completed compliance on the car is the one responsible for altering anything that needs to be in order for the car to be up to Australian standards (including replacing the xenons with halogens if that's what the ADR's state).

If Vicroads was going to double check all the ADR's on every single car that has come through, they wouldn't offer registration appointments in 15 minute time-slots. I think they've got enough to do with the hundreds of people going through their centres each day without having to worry about your lights

You'll be fine mate, don't stress too much.

Yeah, most of the R34s that comes into Australia now still have their xenons, because they aren't really that strict on them anymore, where as 5 years ago, they had to do it right.

That's why my car doesn't have xenons anymore, but at least it's got a little ADR tag on each of my seatbelts haha (which most of you don't have :))

That depends entirely on who comes out to inspect your car. If it's the Indian dude at Burwood, you could be rather screwed. I had compliance documents and a legitimate RWC, yet he knocked the car back because it was too low. I won't say exactly what I did, but I removed something, played dumb and it just passed height the second time. It wouldn't have with people in the car, which he pointed out, but I just played the whole "I'm a girl, I know nothing" card and he eventually let me register it.

I'm over in SA, but yeah - I got defected over my xenon headlights - just with regular bulbs - nothing crazy blue or anything. They also did me for the white bulbs in the parkers etc from DAN666 (said they were 'too blue').

hey all thanks for sharing your experiences and so forth, but it didn't help settle my nerves about getting it looked at lol.

The first appointment had to be cancelled because it needed a new windscreen for RWC, so i had it booked in for today and it went as good as i could've hoped. No dramas at all, a nice and very happy lady greeted me and inspected it, she just checked the vin/engine numbers, i even left the trust exhaust on there and it didn't even get a look at.

i don't know why i was stressing im just fussy i guess, but when they said the appointment was to check the numbers and make sure it complies with ADR's it started to worry me.

anyway im loving it and it's just starting to feel like mine but i suppose it should when you put $135 worth of petrol in it in 3 days lol.
