Hi guys,

See, GTR35 is no doubt one of the fastest stock car i've test driven before. But the sad thing is,...i think all of you knows well...listen.gif.. the new GR6 Dual clutch transmission, being so new and technical for us to own the car in a country without proper Nissan's support.

Not just the transmission, things that we heard like Bonnet opened to high, driving with low pressure or puncture tyres, transmission oil temp high, VDC off driving, launch control rpm set for the 1st and 2nd batch GTRs...etc etc has all been very interesting topics.

Words also suggest that the GTR35 is only "Software"ly weak, not the hardwares...Cars produced with Chasis below 1000 has been the worst hit and 100x-2000 has had newer software downloaded, cars with 3000 and above...etc etc..

AccessPort, Phantom III with GR card, ... were the names that we heard and wished to have in our countries and i believe the AccessPort is already here in KL long ago. Have not find any place where the GTR35 can be sent for the 1000km, 12/24 months transmission calibrating and software updates...

Just try to gather more inputs here locally guys...cheers!smokin.gif

I sorta understand what you meen.. :)

I too have a grudge against new cars, and i meen ALL new cars, getting to high-tech, the mechanical era is gone i guess but hopefully itll sort itself same way as going from carb's to the ECU controlling it all and us actually tinkering with its settings :D Imagine the first reactions back then :bomb_ie:

But implementing to much electronic 'help' is not the way to go in my opinion, its just asking for more problems and huge bills getting them sorted!

one thing i must say is with all the electronics coming out in new cars having a beat up 20 year old car won't be much of an option anymore as electrical issues will become to much of a pain unless there is an easy way to diagnose all the issues from home with a laptop and some software plugged in.

more technology= more complicated=need special tools=more problems=empty wallet.

while computers did well to improve comfort n all dat sort of stuff, its nothing special and also what makes a car more expensive to buy or maintain due to the use of special tools to do that particular work which stops people from working on their own cars or other work shops from carrying out any work so they have to go to the dealership (take BMW for example) to get fixed which sort of benefits the dealer. looking at the R35 for example, if the transmition screws up, only the dealership knows how to set and calibrate the shift points, another case where you can only do this at the dealership and not anywhere else.

plus they talk about reducing emissions and all that but how many people out there can afford to buy new cars?! there are still a number of old cars running on the road, especially those on carbies with leaded fuel so the race to reduce emissions is pretty much useless.

theyve lost the hardcore, raw driving experience of the original gtr's, too many sensors, solenoids, gizmos and gadgets and less human input and manhandling required... epic fail in my books, i dont care if they run 10s with an exhaust change.

and they are ugly as a mofo and as big as a house.

^ i have to agree. as much as i wish it wasnt true, the r35 is one ugly mofo. i thought it would look better in the flesh, but alas, its actually worse.

although i'm sure i'd learn to love one if it was given to me :)

You do realise, that thats pretty much word for word what the R32 was is in its day. :-)

While i agree with them not looking very good i still reckon it would be an amazing drive electronics or not. I cannot say how 'raw' the drive is/would be as i haven't driven one but if i am fortunate to get in the drivers seat of one i'll tell you how it is. The thing is without all those electronics i would be surprised to see a 1700kg car pull 1.2g's around corners whether it is 4wd or not.

You own a 33 your opinion on good looking cars is null and void :P
