hey im changing the trans (manual) and diff and probably transfer oil in my skyline... ive got a r34 gt4, so does that mean it has LSD diffs?

if it does, which i think it does, would castrol LSX90 go good in them?

ps. i know theres a sticky for this and ive already posted this there but not gotten a response

thanks for any advice!

The LSX90 is what I've been using and honestly it does the job fine. I've been told to use Penrite oil as it's better for a tighter shimmed diff and I had a mate who bought Motul oil for his LSD but it just depends how much you're willing to spend and what the purpose is.

In short, LSX90 will be fine. :D

The NA 25GT R34 will most likely have an open diff, unless it's a GT-V model which will then have the GT-t.

If you're wanting to upgrade to an LSD you will have to buy an R33 LSD/housing.

Edit: Just read you have the GT4, sorry I can't answer your question about it having an LSD then.

Hope that helped,

Jimmy.

thanks for the recomendation the LSX 090 is a good price and will be perfect if i infact have LSD diffs, just trying to find out about the GT FOUR in particular

my dash has a "SLIP" light above the speedo that comes on when the rear breaks loose a bit, does that mean anything about my diffs or is it just the attessa system working?

If you've got a Viscous LSD or a locker type diff you only need standard diff oil. MOST RWD skyline diffs are Viscous LSD, not sure on the GTRs however. A helical diff I think uses standard diff oil too but I'm not 100% on that. If you have a friction type LSD you need the oil recommended by the diff manufacturer. The friction type diffs include clutch pack diffs, mechanical LSD(oil grade is important to stop shuddering) and conical LSDs
