I've been campaigning quite hard to get some guys to come up, but the timing so close to other major southern events kind of hampers my efforts.

I have one more crew that I reckon WILL come though, so that's good! :D

That's good news Ben. Entries close on the 4th of May so hopefully we can get the numbers in time.

If we are running this too close to other events, what's your advice? When do you think we should have it? I've heard some quiet whispers of perhaps gambling with running it the weekend befor the V8 supercars. That way race fans might like to bring their race cars up and stay on for the V8s. Sort of making it a part of the V8 race week. You reckon that would work for us or be a epic fail.

When's Supercars on? Sorry. :)

Traditionally Tugga Tas is in May, very early this year being in late April.

You lose approx 250 tarmac rally cars to that event, and most guys aren't keen to commit to an event at the other end of the country within 4/5 weeks. It doesn't really allow the turn around time, whether it be family time, car repairs (or replacement!). So that's one issue.

The other is, IMO, you're pushing shit up hill trying to get interstate cars up for a rally that doesn't consist of at least 200 competetive kilometres. It is a LONG way to travel for a relatively short event, no matter how much fun it is

I think moving it back just one month to mid July could make all the difference? Let's round table it over a few beers when I see you :P

V8 supertaxi weekend is July 9th-11th so that may work out well. And what you say makes complete sense. I don't have a lot to do with the way our club runs but hopefully if we can run this next year i'd like a bit more to do with the organisation of it. Our club does a lot of dirt events and tarmac rallying is relativly unchartered up here with only a handfull of our member's having competed at sothern events. I think we need fresh ideas from people in the know. I have a few ideas of my own for next year but i think we need to concentrate on this year to give it the best chance of happening next year.

It'll be good to have a yarn to you about it over some beers

I've held off being a facebook bandit so far but I'll do whatever it takes :)

Nominations clsoe for this event tomorrow. Now that Targa has finished for another year, are there any servivors that'd be keen to go again next month. We're still lookin for some more competitors to make this viable. I'm doing what i can looking for corperate sponsorship but seems everyone is still a little strapped after the GFC. We lost at least 2 entries because of it.

I see Nuutinen has ditched the Skelta (probably still being repaired after all those hits in Tassie) for a GT2, interesting.

lol, well, he WON last year. :/

The Comodore of Callinan is an absolute weapon (and he's local), and he didn't get a fast run in it last year coz it lunched the diff first run. He'll be back stronger. :)

I'm unsure whether to run 17 or 18 inch rubber. If we run 17's Tim it'll be a good excuse for Puss beating us :D

Best race should be between us Trez (coz ya know Newman will be in the wake of the mighty RB20s).

I do have an unfair advantage though, one Mr Kulhanek sitting beside me yelling "GO FASTER YOU FARKIN PUSSY!"

But yours is full cheat spec :)

    • Plan on the day will be to park trackside. Depending on space availability we will try put a small shade tent and a few of the cars on top of the hill inside turn 3, this is an easy to get to parking area with views of Turn 2, Turn 3, Turn 4 and Turn 5 and limited other pieces of the view around the track. IMPORTANT NOTE! One consideration from previous years is from memory the trackside parking sells out before the admission tickets, for that reason I encourage anyone planning on coming to buy tickets for parking now via the official website; https://www.worldtimeattack.com/ The type of parking you are looking for is 2 Day Park & View (Access Around Venue) Vehicle Pass Only Please note this does not include admission to the event itself, remember to grab that also, and kids under 12 get in for free!
    • This is going to be a mid week evening cruise. Come along and join us for a drive out to Palm Beach. This is a change of event plans after talking to some of the older members of the club. SAU NSW is planning on hitting Old Pac again shortly, stay tuned for details. When: Thursday 26th of June Time: 7:30pm meet/8:00pm departure/10:00pm finish Meet: Spit West Car Park / Spit Rd Mosman NSW 2088 Destination: Palm Beach Public Parking / 16 Ocean Rd Palm Beach NSW 2108 Up to date information as always can be found on the events page of our website, the link for this event is https://www.saunsw.com.au/events/palm-beach-cruise There will be a lead and follow car so no one should get lost. If you would like to attend or bring others along please put your name down and a +1 as numbers will be needed prior! This is NOT a race and we will all be adhering to all road rules. If this is what you want please come to one of our track days. This is an official SAUNSW event and will be run under a Motorsport Australia permit. One of the things that really sets our club apart is our commitment to being true enthusiasts. When on normal roads we strive to maintain good relations with the authorities as well as the public in general. When attending one of Skylines Australia NSW events please try to: • Be aware of surrounding environment and act accordingly. • Drive courteously on the state’s roads as a true enthusiast should. • Understand how important it is to maintain the good name of SAU:NSW and thus, treat others accordingly. • Any misbehavior will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave. Thanks guys and hope to see you there!
    • Good time for a carbon roof
    • Not in any way aroused by any of those, except maybe the big AMGs. And that would break my never a Euro, ever, rule.
