Hi guys

Recently the dimmer put in for compliance (a variable resistor) for the dash lights broke. I have since replaced it but the lights behind the dash are still not working. All the fuses are ok and I am scared I might have burnt out some components if the wires were connected momentarily without resistance. Is this possible? Does anyone have any clues as to what might be wrong??

ALL the dash lights?

May just be coincidence that the dash lights have blown at the same time.

It shouldn't matter about connecting without resistance, because that's how the car was designed.

I think I found the problem. I already checked all the gloabes and they were fine. The other night, it suddenly started to work! And then on the way home it stopped, so I think I may just have a loose connection somewhere in the looms! I'll have to do a proper check tonight.

Chef_32, I am guessing all you have to do is place a variable resistor (not sure of the ohm range) in the current open circuit for the dash lights. Mine was already done, so I didn't have to find any of the wire values myself.

cheers
