Hey guys and gals!

Decided to put up the entries for this Texi HEAPS in advance so everyone can enter.

So anyway, you all know the drill :)

Event: Texikhana, Skids on Sundays

Location: Nirimba Airfield/Tafe/Skidpan/same place as last time (yeah its got a few names)

Date: 5TH SEPTEMBER 2010

What is it: Skidpan + Go-to-whoa

Lunch: Free to entrants (BBQ and cans of soft drink)

Spectators: Free to watch, BBQ will be $4 snag sandwich and $2 cans (selection of flavours available)

Passengers: Free, MUST sign on, wear wrist to neck/ankle clothing with enclosed shoes and approved helmet

Courses: Released on the day at sign on

Those of you that have been to one of these before will agree, this is the best money you can spend as far as driving time for an event. The event will be run after run until 5pm, and considering most runs are under 1 minute AND that we're kicking off at 9am, thats a lot of runs ;)

This is a safe event where you only go as hard as you want to, there's no pressure, one car on a course at a time. Perfect for beginners to have a first try at driving their pride and joy off the streets.

With that said, there's usually some friendly competition towards the pointy end of the field from the ACT guys which is great to watch :)

Timing for the day;

Scruitineering/sign on starts 7am

Scruitineering/sign on ends 830am (dont show up at 825am, come with plenty of time to spare)

Drivers brief 840am (mandatory attendance all drivers)

Runs start 9am

Lunch approx 1230pm depending on how the day is going

Runs stop 5pm

Gates close 530pm

Entrants please note:

-All cars must pass scruitineering, no exceptions.

-All drivers must be licensed (AASA or CAMS) and show licence at sign on.

-All cars must have an insurance approved fire extinguisher secured within drivers reach.

-Sidepipes are not allowed. Screamers/external gates venting to atmosphere are also not allowed. No exceptions (this is not my choice, I ♥ gate)

-Entries are open now, entries close 9am on the 1st September 2010.

-Supp regs and Entry Form are attached. Entry forms without payment will be rejected.

-Yes you can join SAUNSW on the day (allow an extra 5mins at sign on)

-Yes you can organise an AASA or CAMS licence on the day (allow extra 10mins at sign on)

SAUNSW bank details:

Bank - NAB

Branch - Marrickville

Account name - Skylines Australia NSW

BSB - 082 356

Account number - 546 393 766

Please put your full/user name in the description, eg "TEXI N1GTR"

Dont wait until 2 weeks before the event, it will sell out like all others before it. :)

See you at the skidpan

-Stevo

impressed enough for me to be an uber timekeeper? ;) I figure enough people lost out in the january one so I'm happy to volunteer as a marshall or whatnot for the next

(really I have no life lately so I'm on here more than I should lol, I still go out on special occasions but every other time I'm thinking hmmm I should whack some more money off the mortgage :D )

Will enter this weekend.

No problemo

Definatly! Without helpers these days dont happen!

Dont worry about the mortgage, you've got 30 years to pay that off hahahaha

I'll wait until the January Texi is over first before entering this 1

No worries big man

    • Pete knows these cars well, he does my car too, if he was concerned about the traction arm length for your use he would have said so. Do you have adjustable bushes in that arm, maybe he got enough adjustment there (or maybe the bump steer was not material for your use of the car)
    • Hmm. Yes. I should have been clearer. 1000s for Haltech, for extra headroom. 725s for Nistune. You might even be OK with 640s, but if the possible power ends up much more than 300 rwkW you will run out of headroom on the 640s. That would probably be OK and a signal to not push it to that sort of power with Nistune anyway. At that level you probably do want to be thinking about engine protection functions. Oh, and all of that presumes 98 only, not E85. Well....the 1000s would allow you to run E85 at ~300rwkW territory, again, maybe sort of running out of headroom. Hard to tell with E85 - depends on the tuner as to how rich they like to set it up.
    • Yes.  The only scenario I can imagine when the answer isn't yes, is if you drive like there is highway patrol behind you at all times.  If your car currently runs, enjoy it and keep saving. Better costs more, keep saving until you can budget the better ECU. It's worth it.  Nope. Plenty of us making >300kw on unopened motors. Mine is unopened and makes about 350kw if I turn everything up, its fine (lots of caveats here, how the car will be used/abused, how long you expect the engine to last between rebuilds, how has the engine been maintained prior to coming into your ownership, etc etc).
    • Sorry just wanting to clarify, at this power goal, which should I be going? Also, More info regarding suspension, the rear upper camber arms were used to get the camber back to i believe around -0.5 ~ -1 degree (@ Road and Race in Rydalmere), I forgot the exact figure, but ALOT less camber than what it came originally which was like -2.5degrees. Are the traction arms still recommended? The bilsteins from SydneyKid, they've got 400lb/in fronts & 275/in in the rear, revalved to his specs. Intercooler, I'm just having a look at some on Rakuten.jp and some other japanese sites. Might get something from back there, GReddy, Blitz or HPI, all crossflow. Looking at roughly $450-$500 AUD + shipping... Theres not many choices except that chinese branded Justjap unless you go for blitz return flow. Yeah, only downside with Haltech is the price ahhaha, so expensive, and with all the sensors if I go that route... $$$$$ yeesh. Are headstuds/gaskets needed for <300akw?
