Hey Team,

I came across a cheap set of R33 GTR Rims for sale. ( 17x9 +30 )

I was wondering if anyone knows how they would fit on an Auto S2 RSFOUR Stagea?

Im open to opinions on whether they would suit/look good etc... Positive / Negative comments welcome :)

Im only willing to go as big as 17's as I prefer the ride of a 17" tyre wall :)

Cheers,

Aerron

I think DaveB is (or was) running set of R33 GTR Rims, might be able to search for some pics of his stag. As far as clearance goes that won't be a problem, I'm running rims with a +30 offset with 245's, my car is lowered and I have no issues with the wheels scrubbing.

That's right - sorry about the dodgy pic', can't find any better ones just now:

This was before I lowered it, but there's plenty of room in stag' wheel wells for BIG wheels :D

Used to see a series 1 maroon stag all the time in Camberwell, had the r33gtr rims, looked sweet.

Reckon they'd look just as good on a S2.

personally i prefer r34gtr rims (i'll keep wishing/saving)

That'll be Scotsman's better half

Woah... So its agreed that they fit, look good and most probably a good idea :D

As for how cheap is cheap, I found a set with no rash etc $800ono no rubber, but thats easy :bunny:

I was most worried about whether they would hit the guards etc, I've got my Stag sitting about level with the tyre in the front, maybe 5mm above the tyre, the rear sits dead level. But once I get some passengers sitting in the back it squats it down a good half an inch maybe a little more.

Dont get me wrong, I love Nissan's design and lines/curves of the car... but I wouldnt hesitate to roll the guards with a slight pump/lip if need be. :bunny:

Also, I was thinking IF I got these 33 wheels, of getting them sprayed up Gun Metal Grey. I think it would compliment the Perl White

You *might* have to get the rear guards rolled, but that's a minor issue.

I've got 18x8 +30's on my car with 245/40 tyres, and it rubbed a little bit on occasion when I had loads or hit sharp bumps, but since I've had the guards rolled it's been fine.

Your V35 wheels look slick, how much to roll the guards?

I have found that choosing a good tyre with a good rim and throwing some decent money in this area makes such a difference to your ride, I have Potenza RE050As worth the outlay.

17x9 R33 GTR +30 - 235/45 R17 = good.

Autech BBS wheels are a good option as well, although I dont dig the mesh look.

I had some but didnt sit right with standard springs till I got teins, but sold em and went with weds sports SA-90s +30 with 15mm spacers up front 5mm backs but fit snuggly in the bulky S1 stagea guards.

For street and track purposes, cheap tyre sizing and widely available.

I wish I had kept mine for skids and future track days.

Thanks, man! I love the way they look too, and have had nothing but positive comments from others as well. Hmm, if I'd found a set of R33 GT-R rims at the right price, I'd probably have a set of those on my car instead of the V35 rims. I would REALLY have loved a set of bronze RAYS CE28N's or RE30's, but I couldn't find a used set at a price I was willing to pay, and justify the cost of a new set...

Absolutely - a good tyre is mandatory!!! There's absolutely no use in spending on power mods and better suspension and brakes if you don't get back to the fundamentals of having decent grip to make the most of it all.
