Hey all,

I've got a busted amp that is pumping out positive charge through the negative terminal, and it's blowing every fuse that I put in it. Anybody know any place on the gold coast where someone would know what to do about this? I'm not really keen on buying a new amp. but if it comes to that, then fine...just need to get a professional opinion on what the hell is going on with this amp.

It's been out of the car for a while now, n I miss the thumping bass. So it's time to get stuff done. I just dunno where to go to get sound equipment fixed. Brisbane car sound don't do any repairs as far as I know. Can anybody get me in the right direction about this?

many thanks,

Zak

G'day,

I might be able to point you in the right direction, unfortunately I'm off work till after New Years so I can't speak to the right people till then. Might be able to get an email through to someone though.

We're based in Melb., but we have repairers in most states to speed things up a bit for our products.

You should be able to get it repaired, I'm not a tech but I'm pretty sure the MOSFETs are just F$%#@! (ah, fried.) Oh, what amp make/model is it? Would help to work it out.

Will give you a yell when I find out from work.

Merry Christmas! :alcoholic

what amp ahve you got .Unless its a decent amp you would probably be better off replacing. If you speak to someone at dick smith or tandy or jaycar they will be able to put you onto an electronics repairer. Most cheaper amps are not worth fixing.

Go easy on the thumpin tunes man,if your blowing amps imagine what your ears are doin!!

I've got a very simple Boss amp...it came with the car when I bought it. I don't really turn up the bass at all, cos the speakers were never really that good to begin with...the thing just died on me, n it took me a while to realise that the sub wasn't doing anything.

I'd like to replace it, but if it can be fixed for a cheaper price, that's the only option I can think of for now. I'll speak to those guys, n see what can be done...thanks for that.

Cooks, got ur pm...thanks again man, u've been a great help!
