Hey guys quick question a while back my cousin gave me R33 GTS-T break pads and they are almost new. now my brotherinlaw who is a mechanic said i shouldnt use pads that have been used because it will stuff my discs up but other people tell me its fine... anyone?

i guess it depends on the type of pads......

i jsut put some second hand stock pads in the rear of my R33 GTST (as the other pads were race type pads and squealed to buggery) and the second hand pads worked fine. Its the second time i have done this.

I am far from a brake expert but that what i have done.......

Take some 80 grit sandpaper and put it on a flat surface like a workbench. Then take the pad and smooth it out by rubbing the pad on the sandpaper. Try to keep it as level as you can. You will know when there is enough when all of the radial lines are gone and it looks like a new pad surface.
