hey guys,

I'm new at this and I need find out whats needed to be done, on a 100,000km service.

I'm planning on changing the oils-

Flushing engine

Coolant

Front and Rear Diff

Spark plugs (leaving for the pros)

Timing belt (been done 89,000km ago)

Gear box

Air Filter (Buying Apexi intake)

I'm a noob but i need start somewhere.

This going be my first time changing any oil, so please help me.

I need know where unplug the oils and change them.

To learn I need get my hands dirty.

I may sound like an idiot that knows nothing, but I'm will to learn to improve my knowledge.

what do you mean the timing belt was done 89,000kms ago? you mean it had it done at 11,000kms? or are you meaning it was done at 89,000kms?

also if this is your first time changing the oil i don't know if you should takle the timing belt by yourself. it isn't super hard to do, but there is a possibility you could destroy your engine if you do it wrong.

and what do you mean you are leaving the spark plugs to the pros?

as for the actual method for doing any of this, there would be a write up on pretty much everything you are planning on doing if you search the DIY section

Thank for the info, well the timing belt was done at 89,000km's and with the spark-plug I'm leaving it to the mechanic.

I'm not going to even touch the timing belt, as I know that if been done wrong, can do some damage or even destroy the engine.

I'll give the DIY section a look.

oh ok. if the timing belt was done at 89,000km it doesn't really need to be done, but then it comes down to how long ago it was done. just make sure that the tensioner pulleys, etc are done at the same time.

the engine oil is pretty straight foward to do. just make sure the car is warm when you do it.

for the diff and gearbox oils, make sure you can loosen the filler holes before you even bother touching the drain holes. if you can't get the filler holes undone then don't drop the oil as you won't be able to fill them back up. the gearbox isn't quite so bad as you can put it in through the gearstick hole (if it is anything like the 2wd gearboxes).

I'm pretty sure the tensioner pulleys were done. When I purchase my vehicle they said it was done and i had the engine checked by my mechanic and he said all good.

As for the engine oil i hope its easy to do. but for the diff and gearbox oils, got no idea what to do and what kind of method is involved.

Hey mate,

Not sure if you've already started doing the service but I did my 100k service about 2 weeks ago so while it's fresh in my mind I thought I would make a list for ya.....

1. Replaced water pump with new factory item (Done by tuner)

2. Replaced timing belt (Done by tuner - don't attempt this if you're unsure. I've had a fair bit of experience and I left it to the pros, just personal preference)

3. Replaced idler and tensioner bearings (Done by tuner)

4. Replaced oil filter (Done myself)

5. Replaced coolant (Done myself)

6. Replaced all the belts (alternator, power steering and AC) (Done by tuner as I CBF'd lol, but it's not to bad)

7. Drained and filled both front and back diffs (Done myself, this was very easy but you have to be careful when lying under the car, make sure you have the proper equipment)

8. Drained and filled the gearbox (Done myself) with RedLine shockproof (very expensive but the beez neez) - again just make sure you have the proper equipment to hoist the car

9. Cleaned and flow tested injectors (You'll have to get it done professionally, cost me $100, very good investment for an R32)

10. Replaced Air filter (I just put in a good quality K&N panel filter, good for a million Km's, just have to blow the dust out every now and then). If you're running pods, just give them a clean/ replace

11. Clean out your air flow meters, ensure you use good quality electric contact cleaner (you can pick up a can from Dick smith)

12. Changed spark plugs (Done myself). This is really easy mate, just make sure you have the right tools and pick up some anti-seize paste from an auto supplier (you put it on the thread of the sparkies so they don't get stuck in there when the engine gets hot)

and if you want to get technical....

13. Check your O2 sensors (on the dump pipes), mine personally had to be replaced, I wouldn't bother though if the car is running okay

If you take ya car to a reputable tuner when they do the more technical stuff, they will be able to tell if there is anything else that needs attention such as brake pads or tire tread condition.

Hope you've been saving ya pennies, a GTR service will be around $1k :),
