Since we have a Road Rage thread, I figured I would start a “Pedestrian Rage” thread for all those times you are driving and someone on the side of the road does something to you that gets you blood boiling.

Road Rage generally consists of vehicles and their passengers. I don’t know if pedestrians giving you grief is considered Road Rage.

Yesterday I dropped my brother off in Chatswood at the Westfield underpass crossing. I then turned left and left again on Spring Street. The Spring Street turn onto Victoria AVE is a left turn only which one car will turn at time as the car behind waits for a gap in pedestrians before moving up to the turn. The corner is sort of an unofficial pedestrian crossing, so you just wait for pedestrians to stop crossing in front of your car, move up into the corner and the pedestrians will walk behind the car, while you look right to make sure the traffic is clear before completing the turn (PRETTY SIMPLE).

This is exactly what I was doing yesterday with the nose of my car right out into Victoria AVE. Pedestrians had been walking behind my car for around 5 secs, I lift the clutch again, start to roll forward and this guy decides he would walk out into Victoria Ave in front of my car really slowly, he turns around and starts moon walking across the front of my car. He whole time he is laughing with his friends who did the right thing and walked behind the car. I put the clutch and brake in to stop and not knock him down and gave this clown a look like “yeah you are a F*&KWIT”. He looks at me and says “WHA T THE F*&K YOU LOOKING AT F*&GOT”.

Now how many of you have a little evil voice inside your head and another voice telling you not to do anything silly? I do…

“Fraser just ignore it. Yes he is a$$hole.”

OR

“FRASER 8000RMP DUMP AND SHOOT HIM ACROSS THE ROAD INTO THE SHOPS. DO IT!!! DO IT NOW”

On several occasions I have had kids lob rocks at the different cars I have owned over the years. The last occasion of this I saw the kids jump the back fence of a house when they saw me slam on the brakes and reverse back up at them. I looked over the fence and saw them run inside the house. I knocked on the door and confronted the parent who said that this couldn’t have been her children as they were playing up stairs and that I should “piss off”. I explained to her that I knew one of her children wasn’t wearing a shirt and the other had on a red top. Again I was told to “leave”.

Out came my phone, 000 “Police please. Hello, I just drove past house in which some kids seem to be unsupervised. They are running from a house onto the road and are throwing stones at cars. A patrol is on the way? Thank you”

We're now entering a generation where kids are being bred by parents who used to 'do drugs'.

As a Psychopharmacologist, I see more and more of these kids with OCD, ODD (oppositional defiance disorder), Passive-aggressive mood disorder, Borderline personality Disorder, Bipolar II and Narcissism.

My theory is that this surfeit of rage has something to do with drugs or the DNA being affected by the parents doing drugs (even tho' they've stopped).

This SAU community would probably have a LOWER drug mentality than a random sample of the population because most guys/girls here would rather use their $$ to mod their car or upgrade. One exception might still be alcohol; but even that I'm sure would be staggered away from a stint of spirited driving.

I know I haven't covered all parameters like 'home-life', bullying, bad diet yaddayadda; but I wonder if I'm on the right track.

Do you wonder what the world is coming to?

^^^ now you've prompted me to remember an incident Mark!!!

Year was 1974. I was manager of Hammondville Pharmacy. Dr G. Edelstein used to be down the road with his Countach, Bentley & 3 E-types.

Anyway, this brat kept riding his bike up and down the footpath outside the Chemist shop and customers had to avoid him. He was about 10.

I warned him once > he stuck his tongue out at me, as I watched him from the doorway.

So I asked the shop assistant to get me a full bucket of water.

As he came past, I let him have it.

He fell off his bike big-time - arse over tit - no helmet in those days.

Gravel rash was on 1X cheek + knee + forearm > he was bawling his eyes out and screamed, "I'm going to tell Dad 'n Mom on you !!!!" LOL

Once had an old woman, about 70 give me the finger and mumble something about hooning while I was cruising at about 45kmph in a 50 zone. Couldnt resist dropping it down to 2nd and giving it a bit of a poke :(

Other than that, which isnt really pedestrian rage I get the occasional "skylines suck!" comment from bogans but nothing to bad

i love it how everyone talks it up about how great a driver they are and how they were 100% law abiding when telling stories like these.

oh by no means do i follow the law all the time but there's this old couple down the road who go nuts every time i go past; ill go past at 40 in 2nd (after a set of bumpy chicanes, can't go any faster than that if i tried) and they go off at me for speeding... its like yeah doing 40 in a 50 zone.. calm down.

dad told me to tell them to f**k off next time hah

Ive got a storey from the otherside of the fence.

i used to work on the railways in syd, so it would be 2-3 in the morning and dick heads in their hektic commodores would be doing laps and yelling shit out/throw stuff out of the cars at us....the one thing about working on the railways is there is ballast...and lots of it, so we would wait for them to come back around and there would be 20 blokes waiting with a few large chunks of rock and pummel the car as it drove past.

I was also sitting out the front of my house enjoying a durrie and a beer when some twat in a commodore decided to do some fully sick dorift in front of my house and nearly take out the skyline, needless to say his rear passenger window copped a beer bottle through it.

I have been driving down my street in 2nd at around 30 kmh as my driveway was coming up. An old lady walked out into the road infront of my car and I had to come to a complete stop. She stood infront of my car and was waving a walking stick around above my bonnet while yelling "slow down. Children play in this area and if you keep speeding I will call the police". My dad got out of the passenger side and told her that if she hit the car with the stick he would see how she liked being hit with it. They got into some rambing argument about it being a 50zone and that it's very hard to speed after just coming off a speed hump and that the only person breaking any laws was her by standing in the road. She just started repeating again and again that she going to call the policeas I was speeding. I put my car in the garage and my dad walked the 3 houses back to ours.

the only time I have ever had drama is when I have been doing the right thing. Maybe it's because when I'm doing the right thing it makes no sence to you at all and you feel targeted or driving slow enough to notice. Maybe whenI'm being silly I'm to busy looking out for police to notice anything els

oooo i got a funny story

My brother and I were going to bunnings and my bro was driving our mum's astra wagon (lol)... anyhow, i was being a massive shithead so when we pulled into bunnings he decided to park across three disabled parking spots take the keys and locked me in the car whilst he was going into bunnings

about 5 mins later this old lady came out waving her walking stick carrying on at me saying "you kids these days have no respect, you should be ashamed of yourselves, I'm calling the police" haha... about 5mins of her ranting... my brother came out of the shop and walks up to her and asks "what's going on here ay" and she goes off explaining what "I" had done meanwhile he's going "oh my god, that's terrible! some people have no respect, how could she do that" ... the lady finally walks off and my brother gets in the car and we leave driving right past her whilst she's screaming and waving her walking stick.

ahhh goood timessss.

I was reversing out of a spot in an shopping centre underground car park.. looked both ways, no dramas, and as I reverse out this lady appeared from NOWHERE.. she must have been walking along pretty fast without paying any attention... I mean who doesn't look for reverse lights?!?!

So anyway, I slam on the brakes, she jumps back like I'd hit her and starts mouthing off at me!!.... that's what pissed me off the most. It's a CARpark you stupid moronic bitch, look for cars!!

She keeps on walking and of course, I catch up to her at the end of the row as I'm leaving the carpark.... I thought I'd do the nice thing and I say that I'm sorry but I just didn't see her.... she THEN decids to tell me that "I could have killed someone!!" arrghhh!!

So I say to her "maybe you should look where you're going!!" and she walks around behind my car and starts bashing it with her handbag!!!!! :O

f**king stupid bitch, I was so angry :P

    • Update: Tunehouse looked into the problem and identified a wiring issue between the camera unit and the connector. They managed to get it working , but did warn me at some point it will stop working again. From their perspective it is unserviceable and will need replacement. They did some research and found that the new replacement camera would be Approx $1400 supply only (their fitting cost would be $190) . They did provide the part number (28442-JL05B) and a quick google of the part number shows that these are rather expensive brand new (seemingly no longer in manufacture) for the places that still have them in stock, with the used option potentially presenting  the same issue down the track at some unknown point. They are happy for me to supply the part so that they can fit it. Decisions, decisions... I can definitely recommend Tunehouse (thankyou Vee37!). Cost for the diagnosis was as quoted  ($190) , car was ready on time and communication was top notch. Their workshop is super clean and modern, and there was plenty of car candy parked out the front on the day I went.   Would definitely go back.
    • to fix the voltage drop issue I swapped out the old 150amp alternator which turns out is a brand known for having issues and replaced it with the black 180amp alternator beside it
    • For anyone interested, the Way Back Machine has that Japanese website archived with pictures, etc: https://web.archive.org/web/20051023225805fw_/http://www.a31cefiro.com/air_con.htm "Simply swapping the wiring of the harness will not allow it to function properly. For the outdoor air sensor and sunlight sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN1-11 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. For the indoor air sensor, disconnect the wiring connected to CN2-3 of the air conditioning harness from the harness and connect the sensor side wiring to earth. The connector PIN numbers listed here are the genuine A31 PIN numbers. To avoid incorrect wiring, check with a tester before wiring. Also, disconnect the wiring in a location close to the sensor. The disconnected harness side wiring will not be used, so be sure to insulate it." Wish someone sold a conversion harness to just plug-and-play a Kouki 180sx digital climate control into C33/A31. I'm decent with wiring but feeling kinda lazy about taking this on. Edit: Did some more digging and found a helpful Minkara blog post about the conversion as well: https://minkara.carview.co.jp/userid/1831116/car/1360568/2284209/note.aspx "After installation is complete or the battery is replaced, you need to go into self-diagnosis mode and set the internal air recirculation. The way to do it is to "hold OFF with the key on for more than 5 seconds, set the number to 5, then press 卍→C." ↑↑↑It probably won't make sense unless you actually try it (・∀・)." Lol wtf
