R34 Gtt Gearbox Noise

i have recently noticed that when i release my clutch into neutral it makes a noise, nothing loud or grinding. but when i push in my clutch the noise stops

can anyone shed some light on my situation? i have been told its the release/ thrust bearing, but also have been told its something else bad

Sounds like thrust bearing......My Rx7 did the same

does it whine when you accelerate too? if so its the input shaft bearing.

mine does the same... has done it ever since i had the car.. i have never worried about it myself

It'll be input shaft bearing / cluster shaft bearing. My car has done the same thing since I bought it.

its just a worn bearing at the front of the gearbox

in my case its noticeable but not worth fixing because of the age of the car.

went to 2 mechs and they have said its the main shaft bearing and i shouldn't worry to much about it
