Toms 94¢ Heatshield

So i finally took steps towards shielding my pod today

headed to bunnings in search of perspex

i was appalled when they wanted $45 for a smallish sheet so i bailed

buttttttttt............ on the way out i noticed they had plastic buckets for the princely sum for $0.94 so i thought to myself "what the hell...lets see what happens"

One bucket

Cut down one side of the bucket like so

See, all the way down

Looking good...but needs trimming

Trimmed slightly

Hole for the pod filter

Trimmed more

Trimmed bits

I think we're done

Yeah, thats gotta be better than a poke in the eye with a stick

I know its not high tech but its better than having a pod soaking up all the heat from the turbo and it cost less than a dollar

Check out some plastics suppliers or use some flat alloy sheet.

Bang for buck its got to be better value than an ARC airbox but you would have attracted a lot less flak if you could have found a BLACK bucket!
