Hey guys i just installed my intercooler about a week ago, ever since then my boost has been playing up, i have a 2 stage turbosmart boost controller ive turned both the settings to stock and in preety much every gear i get boost spike and heavy boost creep!, if i flat stick it in say second gear i get heavy boost creep the turbo and engine sound like there gona blow so i change gears and then the funny thing is the boost struggles to come on for about 2 to 3 minutes it seems like the computer recognizes the massive boost creep after it happens and restricts it for a short while, u guys have any ideas what it could be!

What does the boost creep til? If it goes past 13 psi then yeah I guess that hesitation your getting is rich and retard, do you have the stock ecu?

yeah goes to around 14 psi actually then hesitates for a while, yeah stock ecu!

Hey mate,

I had a similar problem with one of my other cars with the same boost controller as you. Try taking the spring and ball out of your boost controller t piece and reset your ecu and try then. I'm pretty sure it's the boost controller causing all the problems and then causing your ecu to go into some sort of limp mode, it's worth a shot it solved my problem.

Poor installation - go see a professional.

Also, those turbosmart items, well known for not controlling boost at all well.

I personally would sell it and buy a nice cheap $30 turbotech one.

Yes, you are right about this controller having issues, but if you remove the spring and ball out of it, it then acts like a normal t piece bleed valve with a high and low boost setting.

Yes, you are right about this controller having issues, but if you remove the spring and ball out of it, it then acts like a normal t piece bleed valve with a high and low boost setting and it works and holds boost very well, it's the ball and spring in it that cause problems most of the time. It even says in the instructions to remove it if boost issues occur, it's there to bring the boost on quicker or some crap like that.

Hey guys thanx for ur help, turned out it was the boost controller! I changed it with a normal boost controller and problem solved ), I never used the 2 stage thing anyway it was garbage it came with the car so I just left it. Thanx again!
