Just installing my intercooler today and was looking at what work is involved and was wondering where the vacuum hose is supposed to go after you install the new piping which doesnt have the same exit out of it? does a hole need to be drilled into the piping? or can it be blocked?

cheers

You need to put a hole on the new piping if it doesnt already have it, you cant block it cause you need the source for boost control, unless your turbo has a nipple on it then your gonna need a new one in your piping

cut the nipple out of the old pipe leaving a small ring around it about 8mm then drill a hole in the rubber hose that joins the intercooler pipe inside the engine bay make the hole tight pock the nipple throw the pipe from the inside and seal around the inside with sealant and u have the same nipple just not drilled into your intercooler pipe

would the nipple bit i need just be found at any local auto store? what diameter etc would it need to be?

Any able to answer this? Need to know what size nipple to get ie. the size of the actual nipple bit itself and not the thread. Cheers!!

you need vacuum before the throttle body, so thats from the IC piping.

just buy a nipple circa 6mm @ your local hardware store and just tap some thread into the IC piping

lol @ vacuum before the throttle body. mind you its possible with some of the shocking airfilter set ups you see
