as for the "auto that's been f**ked with" comment, that's an opinion formed by you which formed after you've never seen the car - this is hands down one of the best operating cefiros in the country, with low genuine klms and a well maintained engine...

pretty rude comment really - remind me when it comes time to sell your car so i can jump into your thread without reason or constrcutive comment and attempt to destroy your credibility.

=|

I meant that as in any car modified has been 'f**ked with'. I think untouched stock cars always have that extra allure. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I wasn't trying to say you had done any bad work on it. :D

Anyway this was not a thread where you have attempted to sell your car, instead you asked for opinions on what it is worth...and got several answers. I would never dream of wading into any 'for sale' thread and offering negative opinion.

Transmission is still irrelavent...walk int oa car yard and ask for 2-4 grand LESS because its an auto...it doesnt work like that. Even for sports cars.

Since Eps hasnt provided recent pics, here's some from 2006.

Feel free to repeat that THIS is worth 4 grand.

Since you havent made any digs into me or Ceffy owners recently in WA threads, I'm sure you just wandered in here to try and stir the pot a little more.

I lol'd at pretty much everything beyond tony's original post.

Eps has a point - cefiro owners are different to skyline owners. I'm not sure how.

Maybe it's the respect we have for nice people that drive nice cars (which is also a very rare thing to find). And our considerably more intellectual way of cutting down a response that defames the rare-in-this-country vehicles.

Rowan, for f**ks sake mate. I would keep it.

BTW - I AM MISSING OUT ON MARS VOLTA RIGHT NOW MOTHERf**kER. You could have PM'd me about them tickets for bdo before they sold... Grr.

No I think Cefiro's are ok honestly... :P

  • 2 weeks later...

the first cefiro i brought in australia 4 and half years ago cost me $8500. Factory RB20DET auto mint body, pearl white etc etc...

regardless of where you live and how much more you think you earn compared to residents of the eastern states your cefiro is only worth what someone is going to pay. 9k is to much in my opinion for a de+t. transmission has alot to do with it, which is why manuals are consistently more expensive than autos, i only brought auto because there were no manuals anywhere near my price range.

you've talked about selling and not selling your car for as long as i can remember...

speaking of nz car prices... approx 6 years ago i brought a R32 spec m 4 door shell for $160. my dad then sold it for $50.

just sold my ceffy and ceffy wreck, wreck went for $1500 and running immac auto 20de ceffy sold with it for $6000, so yeah rowan ask for at least 6500-7500 aye

mind you it was the previous owner that bought them both, he was more than happy to get back into it, i now turn my attention to my new chaser, do it rowan if you sell the ceffy buy a chaser, best decision ive made yet haha for comfort style and get up and go from factory

    • Sadly I can confirm if you are actually seeking to drift, you will quite easily spin up one wheel. Even if you're going in a straight line. I am not entirely sure of the metrics/terminology here but there's only a certain amount that the helical will actually spin both wheels. I've seen it on video with my own car where two lines of smoke switch over to just one after you really get in to it. Unlike with a clutch diff where you can keep your foot planted until the car regains grip, in my experience with the helical you want to be utilizing traction control allowing LIMITED slip or lifting (partially) when you start to spin up both tyres with a Nissan helical. Which makes them pretty sub optimal for drifting duty. That said... this is probably a helical on numbers alone. Just put the Kazz in
    • Let's just fix the problem by f**king the rest of the gearbox.
    • Unlikely, as per Greg's post. This is not helical diff behaviour unless one wheel is up off the ground. Shimming what? You don't "shim" a mechanical LSD. Probably not in the sense that you have heard of people "shimming" a diff. And the process that Nissan f**kwits call "shimming" a diff involves super-preloading a VLSD cartridge against the side of the diff to create a friction/wear point (in a place that it wasn't supposed to have one) to make the sloppy, useless, viscous diff into a hybrid viscous/mech abortion. In case it isn't clear, I consider the process to be stupid. Nike.
    • How much does the shifter move when the car is in gear with the engine off? If it is more than about 1cm you need to replace your shifter bush. Your shifts will just get crunchier, not faster, with a short shifter unless you also rebuild the whole box
