Hi everyone...

Last week my windows stopped working the way they normally do... ...Normal for my 33 is for them to automatically go up after 30 seconds once the ignition is switched off... ...Or go up quicker than that if the alarm is engaged...

Now they don't do either... ...I have to have the ignition on (electrical / motor running or not) and manually flick the switches for both sides to get them up...

I thought it could be a fuse... ...But my thinking was that if it was a fuse then the windows might not work at all... ...Or maybe my "normal" window operation is a feature of my alarm and last week when a client grabbed my keys and fiddled with the dongle, setting the alarm off in panic mode, that has somehow changed the operation of my windows...

Thanks for any advice you can give me...

The windows going up when the ignition is switched off is not a standard feature on a R33 and would be a funtion of your alarm.

If someone has set off your alarm then it has probably caused the problem. I would have it checked out by whoever fitted the alarm or if it was installed before you got the car then go to a local car alarm shop who install that type of alarm. For someone who knows alarms it may be a simple fix.

Excellent... ...Thanks for that...

The last owner did give me the booklet for the alarm... ...But it's at my parents place so god only knows where it is now...

Looks like I'll be doing more internet searches tonight...

  • 4 weeks later...

Finally worked out what was wrong...

Who ever installed the system ended up putting THREE inline fuses along the wires for the window controls... ...There's one in the door near the window control unit... ...Which is fine... ...But there were two under the dash for some crazy reason...

Oh well... ...Happy now...
