So I was just driving home from an innocent visit to my folks, coming home down Walcott St towards Guildford Rd.

Just past the lights at Hungry Spot, some fkn lunatic in an N16 Pulsar comes around me (I'm in the right hand lane and apparently he had been doing it for a while) across the double white lines doing well over the speed limit (I would say around 100kmh from the way he passed me), nearly cleans up an oncoming car but ducks back across my nose, narrowly missing me, into the left hand lane. He then swerves around two more cars as we're approaching the Beaufort St lights, at which point he realises the left lane is blocked off by big concrete barriers so as he moves into the right lane he weighs anchors and leaves 5m lockup strips before slamming into the back of a taxi that was sitting at the lights, hard enough to push the taxi into the back of the Patrol in front of him.

He was basically driving like he was being chased by the popo, aliens, rednecks, whatever.

So I pull up at the lights grasping for my maglite (which I realised was sitting on the sofa at home) and get out of the car while old mate with a crankin' mo' from the car next to me is also out of the car. I'm raging hard at this point and old mate is uttering calming words. The guy in the Pulsar was passed out in the front seat and old mate was with him so I checked on the taxi driver and passengers, just sore necks/backs/shoulders and a ruined night. I come back passed the Pulsar to see f**khead awake and moving about groggily, I uttered some words to the effect of STAY THE f**k IN THE CAR and head back to my car to get my phone. I get about halfway there and f**khead decides to do a runner, fortunately old mate with the big mo' tackled him and we held him down until the nice popo and the ambo arrived.

All we got out of him in between lapses of consciousness was he had taken a lot of something.

Now I've taken a lot of drugs in my time and done a lot of stupid things but this is on a whole other scale, I have never been that f**ked up!!

I think the moral of the story is: you can't trust pills these days and stay off the meth kiddies.

Very lucky no-one was seriously injured or even killed tonight, if f**khead had hit that oncoming car when he was next to/in front of me, I hate to think of what the outcome would have been.

And then the dragon flamed-on?

That is pretty f**king stupid of this guy.... wouldn't be surprised if the car was stolen

Good work Bubs, you win the Australia Day weekend community service award for outstanding achievement in the field of raging inferno wrestling

That wouldve been weird :)

Seriously though, thats a f**ked up story man. There are some dickheads in this world, some major f**k-ups. Guaranteed he won't learn his lesson from this

It wasn't a hoon car, just a bog stock N16 Pulsar.. the only mods were aussie flags that I could tell :) he was driving it like he stole it but it could have been his, I didn't hang around long enough to find out.

I honestly don't know what was going through his mind, he was running from something that's for sure!!

Drugs aren't all bad (please don't lump teh green in with drugs :)) but wow was he f**ked up.

I think he'll be more than losing his license for the incident, I dare say some jail time will be involved. I'll probably have to go to court :)

    • I've been pondering this, I really enjoy the convertible thing, for me, it's like riding a motorbike, without all the issue of riding a motorbike, mainly, my old sore arthritic joints getting beaten up, and, being able to do it in shorts and a T-shirt and not needing a helmet and all the other gear required, especially like wearing jackets and pants in the summer, or needing 6 layers of cloths in the winter, or not having wet weather gear handy when your 100km away from home on the bike when it decides to start raining As for the hard top and its Coupe look, whilst I do lose all that open top feeling that I really enjoy, from my experience with the NB with a detachable hard top, the cabin is a much nicer place to be, the difference in noise for one, a hard top quietens down the interior, alot, with the soft top up or down it's pretty noisy, which, after 5 or so hours, can get tiring But, as you stated, the detachable hard top totally changes the look of the car, in a really good way, and for me, the look of a detachable hard top is so much better than the PRHT which looks more like a after thought with its weird bulbous rear roof line For me, the minimal effort of putting in on, or storing it after removing it, is well worth the time and effort for the look alone And yes, I'm sure the next owner will be grateful for it as well.......
    • I get into huffs with people when I suggest the MX5 looks so much better as a coupe than it does as convertible. Pretty sure I don't prefer the convertible version of anything. Good job on the hardtop! The next buyer will appreciate.
    • IMO wrap does have its uses, but like you said, quality wrap, and professional installation, would probably cost want a quality paint job does, but, the paint, if maintained, is basically for life, and much easier to touch up if required  In other news: it's pissing down here, with thunder, lightning and only some small hail "at this stage", luckily all "my" cars are undercover  I've also been contacted by a guy in Newcastle about the SS, he said he will come down next weekend for a look, we'll see how that transpires I guess 🫰
    • Nah, I'm not an a-hole, ha ha!   I do like the colour match. Some of the carbon fibre wraps are quite freaking horrible. There's one a local company I know uses, and it looks damn good! Also very very expensive per metre to buy! ha ha ha It might be cheaper to respray the roof than use the good CF Wrap, ha ha!
    • Please noooooooo 😭 As for wrap, no thank you mate, I've seen and used "carbon fibre" wrap before, and for these hard tops, they look soooo good when colour matched Like this >>>
