I am thinking I will go the RDA slotted rotors as mentioned above plus the QFM HPX pads.

Is anyone else running that combo? I would just go RDA pads green stuff), but a few people on here have said they aren't that good.

Then again, a mechanic I was going to get to do the install said the QFM pads are no good..... He said they need to get real warm to work ? ? ?

So I have no idea.

I won't be doing any track work or super heavy driving so I reckon the above combo should be good.

I got hpx on standard rotors. Work from cold. Not much heat needed. A1's need more heat but from what I've felt not much more.

I think the AR1M's are tough on rotors if not up to temp. I'll be going with the HPX pads when I do my upgrade.

They are, but they still work better than the EBC reds I had, even when stone cold. When they heat up (after one application) they are exceptional. My disks havent worn much at all in the short time I have had them on, I will let you know how they go but I wont be expecting 10 years out of them.

Im sure the A1RM's are much harder on disks when they are hot though, the noise they made on the disk sounded like an angle grinder when I stomped on them. lol.

Go the HPX's if you don't drive hard and run stock power though.

what do you mean, i have the hpx and slotted rotors and they work better than expected at my power

Still have to get:

boot mat (don't laugh, I know its not an upgrade but still a few $)

Brake upgrade (RDA slotted + QFM HPX pads)

BC Suspension

Rims and Tyres.

Then Intercooler/exhaust etc.

Of course, this is all pending approval from the Minister for Finance!

Huh? I am...I'm looking at aftermarket pads for them (the fronts) though...

Not sure how good the OEM Brembo pads are...probably nothing special?

oh. honestly after seeing scotts A1RM's in the GTR brakes, i was impressed!

seeing as they are locally sourced, and cheap as poo. I would be looking at them.

and they have em available on hand so you walk in and grab em and leave - but thats my opinion.

RDA Standard Rotors with custom slotting (curved slots which do not go to end of rotors) and dimples (as per RDA Gold Passivated Turbo Grooved Sports Rotors). Combined them with full set of Dixcel High Performance Street Pads ex Japan. What a difference to the standard brakes...Very happy :thumbsup:

Whats the theory with the custom slots? Whats the benefit from curved slots which dont go to the end of rotors?

I guess dimples are a good compromise over cross drilled? Dont crack?

Curved slots look cooler than straight ones. Ones that end before the edge are designed to reduce cracking (so they say). Cross drilled ones crack. No idea what the dimples are for if you have slots. Cross drilled are supposed to aid cooling and/or let gasses escape- dimples wouldn't do that. Slots themselves are useful in getting rid of gases, keep pads clean get rid of water.

I need 350z brembo compatible front slotted rotors.

Scotty had a look at them and the front rotors were so rusted they are crumbling away :unsure:

Non Brembo

Front, $79 each for standard, or $249 for a pair of slotted

Rear, $69 each for standard, or $219 for a pair of slotted

Brembo

Front, $119 each for standard, or $309 for a pair of slotted

Rear, $119 each for standard, or $309 for a pair of slotted

As always, if you see them cheaper elsewhere we'll see what we can do, or a package price with pads etc.
