Power steering was the only fail!

Other than the driver letting that car up the outside under braking. :nyaanyaa:

Dot 5.1 is ok apparently but dot 5 is silicone based and doesn't mix well.. Cant remember where I read it though.

Bang on the money as far as I know.

Full fluid flush & complete caliper rebuild to eliminate contamination. Silicone fluids aren't hydroscopic (absosrb water) but MUST be changed regularly.

When changing to Dot. 5.0 fluid most recommend soaking seals in 5.0 overnight; to ensure they don't balloon (some types of seals are attacked by the Dot 5 fluid) and fall apart.

I use Dot 4 fluid in my GSXR 1000 brake system; have done literally hundreds of laps at Eastern Creek, no fade at all. I use either RBF 600 or Motorex.

I actually have a container of Motorex Dot 5.1 here and on the label in bold, it says;

Extremely high boiling point of 265 degC/ 509 degF.

Not mixable with mineral oil or silicone based(Dot 5.0), however can be applied instead of Dot 4 brake fluids without problems.

Must be changed once a year!

Yep not even considering anything DOT 5.

But is amazing the differences in temp and price between DOT 4 fluids.

As far as I can tell, Motul do a DOT 5.1, but even the high temp AP, Motul, etc are DOT 4.

But like I said, huge differences in temps, and no idea when you need what temp.

Ok.

I need new front rotors and pads. Reading through this thread it sounds as though the RDA rotors are pretty good.

I'm looking at these of ebay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/STAGEA-IMPORT-M-35-3-5-L-01-05-Front-Gold-Disc-Rotors-/190534795621?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c5cc24165

Anybody had experience with them? What pads to go with them?

Otherwise I found these but I'm unsure about them: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NISSAN-STAGEA-import-M35-Disc-Brake-Rotor-Pad-Pack-/280732893735?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415cfc0227

Cheers

Contact GSL Rallysport on here. They're pretty cheap for RDA and DBA rotors. I'm not sure the Gold ones are worth the extra?

I think most people here are running Hawk, QFM or Nismo pads. GSL do QFM, and I have a set of QFM HPX pads ready to go in when I finally get around to fitting all my nice shiny brake stuff.

Cheers for that. GSL contacted
