Hi guys,

I know the lowering debate has raged countless amount of times but i need a clarification. All help is much much appreciated.

Today I was set on buying the lowered KING-SPRINGS (why? cheap, Aussie, 30% stiffer and good reputation...btw buying springs only) from my local wholesaler, went and talked to him and he had no clue what a V35 was, not even in their system!, no probs buddy don't panic since its the same as the 350Z....now my question is:

The King-Springs lower the 350Z by 30mm, since the general fact is that 350Z springs will lower the V35 COUPE and EXTRA aprox Inch (20-25mm). Will it be correct to say the final/total lowered height will be 45-55mm?

1. Does anyone have king springs on their car?

2. Does anyone have their car that low?

3. Isnt that seriously low? and suicide for the under carriage?< btw im driving around the west, Blacktown, penrith, parra etc etc

All responses appreciated asap, i wanna get this cleared up so i know if i should/shouldn't buy the springs....thanks guys so much!

If your just after springs then probably no good to get the king springs. It would be highly recommended to replace your shocks with those springs. You may also need a camber kit front and rear depending how you like your camber.

Try pedders, i know they make springs for the 350z aswell...not sure how low they are though. Ive had tein stechs which lowered the car around an inch all round...maybe slighty lower at the front.

My honest opinion and you have probably heard it a 1000 times....get coilovers

But if you after just springs you can get cheap tein stechs or eibach springs from the states under $500. Or you can buy mine for $250 ;)......but eventually you will want coils like me for a lower stance without to much ride sacrifice. ive had the pedders extreme xa coilovers for a few months now and have never looked back. They go stupidly low but the ride is awesome for a coilover....far superior to teins etc.

Yes, I would expect those king springs to lower your car more than they would a 350z. By how much I cannot say.

In response to Robbo's post. Thats a big call about being far superior.

Im talking about ride quality on the street. i dont track the car at all. i had the tein cs and they were terrible. noisy and very rough ride. probably meant for the track more than street though. everybody i know that have the pedders are more than happy. Mainly the holden and ford boys as i dont know any v35 or 350z with them ;)

I understand that coil-overs might be the ultimate way to go, but you can deny the price difference, its $300 for kings and a decent coil-over set you looking close to $1.5k-2k. That is just way to much for me. Basically looking for:

-Slight improvement in roll.

-Lower centre of gravity.

-Improvement in traction when powering out in a corners (you guys may have noticed the traction lost when powering out of a corner, not track driving, just aggressive power out from normal driving)

-lower ride height! i sit just as high as some sedans out there!

I think all of that can be provided by a set of springs.

Really appreciating the input keep it coming guys.

i was happy with the drop my stechs gave me and the ride quality was almost as good as standard just slightly stiffer, but when i put the 20's on it just didnt sit low enough anymore thats the only reason i went coils. I reckon the eibach sportlines if you like it low or the tein stechs. plenty of reviews on both in g35driver.com. $300 for king springs is awesome value though!

hey man i have king springs kit on mine.. and trust me i havent had a problem with the drive train of my car.

so yeh you cant just put king springs in the shadows, this is coming from a guy who has them on...

its probably best for you to consult an actual workshop so they can see your ride in flesh rather than them refering to a 350z. this way they can give you a straight up answer and the best option they have for you.

ave king spring on aswell, arent too bad but would def need camber kit specially on the rears. if you wanted to know what it looks like then browse through the wa v ruise rd 2 hae pics on my car on there. havnt had the time around to it but after springs camber would be my next mod.

if not then you can ad another $500 or so and get those cheap ones on ebay atm. my friend has a z and stuffed up his tien coilovers (had them for 3 years) he was running short on cash so decided to buy the cheap ebays to try... hes happy with them for the price and they are height, camber adjustable aswell.

+1 ^ ..search through the WA cruise thread ...both xtc and my car are lowered on kings. Ride quality is good, but you will definately need a rear camber kit (or fork out new set of tyres every 15000km)

I've tried a variety of lowered springs...H&R, Tein, Eibach... and anyone that says that kings will blow ur shocks quicker than the other brands are talking out of their a$$

if ur shocks are on their way out...even the most expensive lowering springs will kill them faster, so always make sure that ur shockies are up to it before lowering.

thank for the input cuz, esp since you have them on. ...umm what you mean by 'kit' do you have the coil-over or the springs?

I happened to come across your car once, and was really liking your drop. So if you have the springs, then ill know exactly how low they go.

thanks for the advice xtc, i had a look at your car...firstly its looks very very nice!...secondly ill have a look at camber kits a bit later down the road....for a lil while let me enjoy the extreme camber....but not looking forward to the tyre expenditure lol.

they usually wear out about 40000 -50000km
