Well, after picking up my 1996 GTSt from auction in Japan in mid-October, it's now finally sitting in my garage, registered, complied and good to go! (oh, and fully insured too hehe)

Few delays along the way, nothing major..compliancers opened up on Boxing Day so I could pick up my ride, how nice of them!

Still got to get my 3rd tier inspection done, but that's pretty much a formality.

So I'm finally looking forward to seeing a few of you ppls around, especially those out Penrith way! If you see a black man driving a white R33, don't call the police, wave! hehe (that's me btw, don't take offence!)..

Skyline @ 16? Hehe that's cool, although do you have power-weight restrictions over in WA?

$4100 isn't too bad either - I got quoted $5000 to insure my 18 yo brother.

/added - Oh yeh, I just remembered, I'm in Sydney. That pretty much explains the diff. Damn.

I just took my car out for it's first decent drive..I'm speechless. The acceleration is crazy (as a reference I've only driven Taragos and a Mazda 1.6L Protege in the past)..

Can't believe it, and you ppl with GTRs out there..whoa. Respect!

Buying it was the best decision I've made all year!

Got it thru Prestige..had no problems with the service from Geoff, no delays, no dramas.

3rd tier inspection - Vehicle Identification Inspection, as the RTA calls it. As far as I know some blue-slipped cars that don't come from a dealer have to go thru it, just to check that the car isn't dodgy - eg they match the compliance / vin / engine numbers, etc.

Did a search about this too, and it seems that defect inspection may / may not be conducted..not that I have anything to worry about, being a STOCKER and all haha.

njs - Yeh I've revised down slightly what I wanted to do, mods wise. But like you said, I'll get used to it. I give myself three months before I start thinking..
