beamstas
Hey Guys Has anyone on here bought a just jap split dump pipe that acts like a screamer pipe with an internally gated turbo? http://justjap.com/store/product.php?produ...=276&page=2 The Turbo Im running is a kkr430 Specs: Compressor side Inlet pipe 70mm, outlet pipe 50mm 48 trim compressor; inducer 53mm, exducer 76.5mm Exhaust side 0.58 A/R turbine housing, Turbine wheel outlet 48mm, outer diameter 64.5mm I realise that it wont give the same roar as a large externally gated turbo but im looking for info/opinions from people who have done this, or people who know how this type of setup sounds . boostn0199
Well from what I ve seen the kkr turbos dont have the same dump flange as stock nissan so wont fit unless you have a custom kkr turbo with the stock turbo rear Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305771-just-jap-split-dump-pipe/#findComment-5057628 Share on other sites

beamstas
Cheers Guys skline01999 Think your right, needed a new dump for the kkr turbo so that would explain the difference.. Elite Racing Thanks for your opinion. Are you sure its no hp gain? Less Restriction in the exhaust once the gate opens.. This question gets asked a lot, internal wastegates don't sound good with screamers because they never seal properly and are always leaking. Leaving you with a car that sounds like its doing a wet fart all the time. Shaun O
Ugh screamer pipe is so gay - or or - do you really want that sound every time you boost around? Get's f**king annoying after a while, trust me - though I don't know if an internal gate like that will be that loud. I wanna get my external gate screamer pipe plumbed into the exhaust ASAP, it sounds similar to that video if not louder and it f**ks me off.I can't believe people in the youtube comments say it sounds awesome. I also lol at how many RB20 and RB25's on youtube get revved past 8k rpm constantly. Has anyone on here actually done it? v8tzr How would back pressure be affected? Its only the gases that aren't needed to spin the turbine. I know how a screamer pipe sounds.. mate has one on his rb20 180sx.. sounds tough. If you were running a 1 inch exhaust, yes.....with a 3 inch, no. GAY! perhaps the only screamer you are looking for is when the local constabulalry insert their wee-wee into your poo-poo. Maybe that will remind you why its a stupid fu*kin idea Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305771-just-jap-split-dump-pipe/#findComment-5058373 Share on other sites

soturi
My mate has one on his vl turbo with an rb25det in it...that exact one, it was a leaking piece of crap...sounded the part...but boy did it leak...we put stock dump back on and it cracked along...was a suprise how much of a difference it made. I had one though on my sr20..and it never leaked, but a friend has one that does leak, the overall quality of the item is crap to be honest, but if you get lucky with one that doesn't leak, should be ok... femno
Its the splitter in the middle that determines the level of seal from the main to the actuator side. If you contour the splitter well enough to suit the turbo it wont leak much. They can still sound pretty good, depends on pipe length / size / etc. I say go for it and if you dont like it take it off. Pretty simple. geraus
i've got a jjr screamer on my highflow turbo, Look i'l be honest with you guys, Just like what others said...... - No HP advantage - illegal - LEAKS ON IDLE. JJR ONES LEAK 100% , IF U WANT A GOOD ONE U CAN GET AN EXSPENSIVE ONE FOR LIKE 300 & THEY DONT LEAK. but but, I love it, sounds crazy!!!!!!!! in the videos thats what mines sounds like! even sounds better with the cat bashed out, more holow... but yeh, i'd personally dont recommend it. The first one is external, the other two i'm not so sure they are fully external. 2nd one if it's only running 10psi really isn't moving much air so that does affect things. You can tell the difference between a fully dedicated external gate screamer because the exhaust gas does not go through the turbo like it does on int gated 'screamers', just makes them sound poxy IMO. List here on my vid - you can hear similar to the first vid. Manifold design also changes the sound, as does the lenght/cut of the screamer pipe itself (14 sec-20sec) (27sec-40sec)I miss my external gate days Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/305771-just-jap-split-dump-pipe/#findComment-5059138 Share on other sites
Parag0n
Screamer Pipes are a wank unless you're building a fully dedicated track / strip car. Plus it's a major defect in several states which means your car is going to get towed and end up in an impound yard for some fat bastard towie to play with.
