Hmm, neither my front or rear slimline plates (NSW) will go on the standard spots on the 'line easily.

I know that some ppl have bent / cut theirs, but I don't want to cut it (nice shiny new coloured plate) and bending it looks kinda like cop bait.

I was looking at using a pair of longer bolts and some washers, anyone else done same? (Although they won't be mounted flush)

Anyone got any suggestions / pics of what they've done?

I think outside of WA you need to use the state issued number plates, but then I'm just guessing as I haven't seen any non state issued plates in VIC or NSW.

my front plates are attached with a pair of spacers made from 2 oversized bolts from bunnings and a pair of long bolts (with allen key holes so you can't take it off with a screw driver) dunno why I went to the trouble as they're non slimline n non custom lol.

BD4s actually make a metal bracket that moves the front plate UP and AWAY from the bumper.

This has the effect of moving it UP, so it doesn't block the intercooler (GTR or front mounted GTS), and AWAY so you don't have to bend/cut the number plate.

I wish I had known they sold these before I bent my brande new plates :D

Nope, not at all... It would be piss easy.

But I don't know how to weld, I don't have the welder, and it's a thousand times easier to pay someone to do it instead of learning how to weld and buying a welder :D
